Самые полезные и вредные орехи для здоровья

Nuts – this is a truly amazing product that has been quite popular lately. Obviously, many have realized how such a simple snack allows you to pump most of the body's capabilities, increase immunity and, which is also important – helps to reduce weight. However, the general euphoria about nuts somewhat overshadowed the fact that certain properties of this product can, unfortunately, cause harm. In any case, it will not be superfluous to understand in detail: what effect the use of nuts has on the human body, and clearly define the boundaries of benefit and harm.

About the dangers and benefits of nuts for health: a guide to the product

Peanuts: Benefits for the Brain
It is noteworthy that, theoretically, peanuts are legumes. However, it has long been "glued" to him; the name of the nut. As is typical for all legumes, in the composition of peanuts – excess folic acid: this water-soluble vitamin (B9) helps to keep the brain in good shape, and also sufficiently protects a person from depression. Often it is folic acid deficiency that is experienced by pregnant women and people who adhere to vegetarianism, so for them the inclusion of peanuts in the diet – great solution.

Brazil Nut: Reproductive Benefits
Again, this product is not a nut, either. In this case, it is a grain, but it is generally accepted to consider it a nut. It is very rich in selenium: thus, by eating only one nut a day, you provide yourself with a daily norm of a useful mineral, which is necessary for the thyroid gland and immunity, and is also useful for the nervous system.

And perhaps most importantly – Brazil nuts in the diet help to balance the production of hormones responsible for the reproductive function of both men and women.

In this case, the influence of selenium, which is involved in significant processes, is also undeniable: in women – this is the creation of the egg, fertilization and the trouble-free bearing of the child. As for men, the nut has a beneficial effect on their health, increasing potency and improving sperm quality. However, it should be borne in mind that when using Brazil nuts, a measure is needed, since an excess of selenium in the body is fraught with diabetes.

Pecans: bad for the diet
Only a dozen of these nuts contain 3g of protein and 20g of fat. And each of them has 200 cal. In general, of all nuts, pecans contain the least protein, despite the fact that nuts, on the contrary, have more fat than all others. Therefore, if you are not on a diet, pecans will be very useful, which, of course, cannot be said in the case of struggling with extra pounds.  And with a normal diet, you just shouldn’t get too carried away; pecans, and do not eat these nuts in handfuls: it is still more appropriate to monitor the calorie intake consumed during the day.

Any salted nuts: harm to water balance
In general, it is worth noting that nuts with additives (salt, sugar, chocolate) or the manufacture of dessert butter from them – these are by no means nuts, but an ordinary delicacy, which, however, is harmful to both teeth and figure.

But if you add salt to the sodium-rich brazil nuts themselves, whether pistachios or peanuts, it will be just a disaster.

Because with a handful of salted nuts, your body will receive a significant (if you start from the daily norm) dose of salt, which, in turn, can cause swelling, intense thirst, and fluid retention in the body.

A handful of nuts can energize us for hours. They are nutritious, contain protein, many vitamins, healthy fats and minerals, without which the functioning of our body in a normal mode is impossible. Among other things, some substances contained in most of them slow down the aging process. However, do not forget that along with the benefits, nuts can also be harmful. Fortunately, the benefits and harms in the case of this product are not equal.
