The disease of the XXI century, as gastritis is called today. The influence of the environment, a drop in immunity, the use of too much salt, spices, GMOs, acids provokes the development of bacteria in the stomach and the appearance of microbes that cause gastritis. The most common types of gastritis are acute gastritis and chronic, although sometimes the symptoms show the development of rare species, but very dangerous for human life. Experts repeatedly insist that the means of combating the disease are determined after passing the examination and finding out the exact diagnosis and causes of the disease. Effective treatment of gastritis is possible only when it is known exactly what to treat and what form of the disease.

What provokes the occurrence of gastritis of the stomach

Previously, it was believed that the main cause of gastritis development is a person's malnutrition, frequent bouts of hunger, which are replaced by overeating, or eating too junk food. In fact, a breakthrough in finding out the causes of this disease and methods of treatment was made in 1981 by B. Marshall (therapist) and R. Warren (pathologist). They found that the cause of the appearance of signs of gastritis in the predominance of the bacterium Helicobacter pylori in the stomach. Today, experts identify 4 main causes of gastritis:

  • Helicobacter pylori is fixed in the walls of the gastric mucosa and secretes (synthesizes) urease – irritates the walls of the stomach, increases the level of acidity. The gastric mucosa in response to irritation begins to secrete gastrin – hormone-like substances that promote the production of pepsin and hydrochloric acid. The bacterium Helicobacter lives perfectly in such an environment and increases the acidity more and more;
  • The reflux process consists in the return of the contents of the duodenum to the stomach, while the presence of bile in the contents has a detrimental effect on the walls of the stomach, dissolving the protective layer;
  • malnutrition is fraught with many dangers, including the appearance of gastritis along with other pathogens;
  • an increase in the level of acid in the stomach due to stress and mental strain or the development of many diseases provokes the development of gastritis.

What are the main types of disease

Gastritis most often occurs in two forms: acute and chronic. It also happens: atrophic, hypertrophic, lymphocytic, infectious, diffuse, focal and mixed. Often one disease goes through stages of development and passes from one form to another: acute → chronic gastritis → atrophic → precancerous condition or tumor development.

Acute gastritis is an inflammation (deep or superficial) of the gastric mucosa. It flows very quickly – from several hours to several days. The patient may not even know that he has signs of gastritis, until at one fine moment there is an acute attack of pain in the stomach area.

Chronic gastritis is an inflammatory process of the gastric mucosa over a long period of time (from several months to an indefinite number of years). If during this period no effective treatment of gastritis is provided, morphological changes occur in the walls, which may be irreversible.

What are the main symptoms of gastritis

  • heartburn;
  • nausea and/or vomiting;
  • pain syndrome (under the ribs or in the stomach area);
  • frequent bloating;
  • increase or decrease in appetite.

What is the effective treatment for gastritis

Acute gastritis should be treated as soon as the first signs appear. To do this, it is worth rinsing the stomach from food particles, and then go hungry for a day, using only warm tea, water, and a decoction of medicinal herbs. With chronic gastritis, this procedure should not be done. After cleaning, the patient should adhere to a strict diet: grind soups, & nbsp; make souffle from meat and fish so that there are no lumps, use mucous porridges. Next, the doctor prescribes an effective drug treatment of gastritis in the form of injections, tablets, droppers. Antibiotics may be prescribed if needed. If gastritis is of a chronic type, then anti-Helicobacter therapy is prescribed, & nbsp; drugs to normalize acidity and digestion.
