Recently, there is more than one lucky dog in the world. Thanks to the efforts of caring people, a dog named Derby has found new paws, which were printed on a 3D printer especially for him.

When Derby was born, it turned out that even in the period of intrauterine development, the puppy had a severe defect. The front paws of the dog were underdeveloped, they lacked pads and claws.

For this reason, Derby's dog could only crawl, which is why the owners had to give their pet into the hands of PeaceandPaws dog shelter specialists. There, the dog was equipped with a special two-wheeled cart, which was originally intended for animals with paralyzed hind legs. Due to the fact that Derby had problems with his front paws, the cart did not give him complete freedom of movement, significantly limiting his abilities.

By a happy coincidence, Tara Anderson, a top manager at 3D Systems, a company that sells 3D printers and provides 3D printing services, once visited the shelter.

The woman's colleagues agreed to help the dog and, having taken measurements from his front paws, made special prostheses for him. First, Derby was fitted with shorter prosthetic legs to get him used to his new paws. Immediately after the prostheses were installed, the dog immediately began to joyfully run and bark.

After some time, the dog was fitted with normal length prostheses, thanks to which he regularly runs from 4 to 6 km without rest. Tara Anderson notes that now the dog Derby runs so fast that it is impossible to catch up with him during walks.
