Injection procedures are currently one of the most sought after and effective procedures in the practice of aesthetic medicine specialists. With the help of such procedures, it is possible to achieve an almost instantaneous effect of rejuvenation, correction of skin defects and improvement of the patient's appearance as a whole. However, such procedures have a downside – dermatological injection complications that can occur both in the pre- and post-injection period. At the conference "Sakura Esty Derm", which took place on April 26-27 in Uzhgorod, leading dermatologist Yuri Andrashko made a presentation on this topic. For readers of estet-portal.com, Yuri Vladimirovich told why injection complications can occur and what is the secret of their successful prevention and treatment.
Yuri Vladimirovich, how important, in your opinion, is an integrated approach for the treatment of dermatological diseases, including injection complications?
It's impossible without him. At first it was just a phrase, but now it is already an integral concept.
About 45% of skin diseases are psychosomatic, so any external treatment of the skin in this case is only a psychotherapeutic approach in order to leave the person feeling that they are being taken care of in terms of traditional skin care views.
The patient may not be ready for the fact that the search for a solution to the problem will be in a completely different coordinate system than simply applying even some drugs to the suffering organ. Therefore, only an integrated approach with the ability to apply all medication, verbal, emotional, hardware and rehabilitation techniques allows us to see this skin as an object, with the right to interfere in its life. Then only a doctor has the right to call himself a full-fledged specialist in the field of dermatology.
What pre- and post-injection complications do dermatologists often face?
If before, aestheticians clearly understood the contraindications for injection procedures in the presence of certain diseases, now we have learned to translate these diseases into such a degree of course, with such remission possibilities, when we can also regulate the time parameters. Therefore, we can work with the organ not only linearly, but also spatially, giving it both health and at the same time improving its aesthetic condition. Therefore, the management of the dermatological patient under certain clinical conditions includes a pre-injection period followed by the integration of injectable technologies.
The most typical injection complications may occur, primarily infectious and non-infectious, with differentiation into some groups. The most important – this is the ability to recognize incipient complications at an early stage, with a minimum amount of application of certain medications. This is important in order to stop the development of the complication in time and not compromise the entire effective injection technology that led the patient to improve his appearance, and not spoil the result.
Do you have any personal "secret methods" that help you avoid injection complications?
I will answer with one phrase: you must love the patient. It is important to love not only your job, but to love a person, even if you are tired, even if you are burdened by some circumstances, even if you have reason to be annoyed and focus on something else.
Directly at the moment of professional action, some sense of truth must be sent down to the specialist, and he must convey to the patient this emotion, this confidence, this knowledge, this hope, and then the miracle that is needed will be performed.
Therefore, the emotional part is probably one of the important secrets, except for the material events that happen to a person, thanks to the doctor's influence on him.
