The task of the cosmetologist – maintenance and improvement of beauty. And for its successful implementation, a specialist needs to enlist the support of reliable assistants, which are fillers based on hyaluronic acid, botulinum toxin, calcium hydroxyapatite and many other drugs.
Natalia Romashchenko, a plastic surgeon, cosmetologist, specialist in injection techniques in aesthetic medicine, certified trainer of the Institute Hyalual, told estet-portal.com readers about when which drug should be preferred.
What is the difference between hyaluronic acid fillers and calcium hydroxyapatite?
N.R.: In fact, it is not worth comparing these two drugs at all, since they perform completely different functions.
Calcium hydroxyapatite does not add volume to tissues, it is used to prevent aging.
Calcium hydroxyapatite is ideal for those with deformed-edematous aging morphotype because, unlike hyaluronic acid, it does not draw water onto itself. Hyaluronic acid fillers are volumizers that create volume and lift tissues. Indications for their use are much wider than those of calcium hydroxyapatite. In addition, in my practice I use Alexa fillers from Institute Hyalual, which also do not give puffiness to the face.
What is the maximum amount of filler that can be injected into a patient?
N.R.: Regarding the volume of the injected filler – there are no fundamental restrictions. It all depends on the individual characteristics of the work with the patient. In my practice, I try to inject no more than 5-6 syringes of dermal filler within six months. This is due to pastosity, which can be caused by the regular injection of a large volume of filler. A year later, hyaluronic acid-based fillers dissolve, undergo fragmentation, after which you can start working again, giving patients beauty and freshness.

You said you use Alexa fillers, what are the main benefits?
N.R.: You know, I have been working in aesthetic medicine for a long time and doing full-face correction. Therefore, I tried a huge number of fillers and opted for Institute Hyalual Alexa fillers.
Firstly, this filler has numerous European quality certificates, which indicates its effectiveness and safety.
I am also attracted by the characteristics of the drug: its osmolarity, the nuances associated with the pH of the filler, it would seem, are trifles, but they are the key to a high-quality result.
It should also be noted a wide range of products, which makes it possible to work in different areas of the face and solve a wide variety of skin problems.
Why are you working with Institute Hyalual?
N.R.: I have been working with Institute Hyalual for a very long time, more than 10 years. This is a powerful domestic manufacturing company that I am very proud of.
I love Hyalual for its wide range of products and the fact that this company never stands still.
And most importantly – I really love working with the Hyalual base product, which is great for working with skin quality. After it, she just blooms, so for myself I don’t see a better drug!
What innovations can we expect from the Institute Hyalual in the near future?
N.R.: Eight months ago, the Alexa filler came out and I'm very happy with the results. We also expect the release of peels with fruit acids. These products will cover almost all skin quality problems: these are small and large wrinkles, and the width of the pores, and hyperpigmentation. These peels will also provide a pronounced anti-aging effect, and in general will contribute to a comprehensive improvement in skin quality.
Also, the company will soon introduce a new anesthetic that will provide a high level of anesthesia and a prolonged effect – and this is exactly what any cosmetologist needs.
