ABR peel is one of the most effective ways to cleanse the skin with post-acne and the presence of stagnant spots, as it is a combination of fruit acids, retinol and salicylic acid. Thanks to this combination of components, problematic skin is exfoliated and brightened, ABR peeling reduces inflammation, regulates sebum secretion and evens out skin relief. Cleansing the skin with ABR-peeling has a good effect on manifestations of hyperpigmentation and photoaging, improves skin tone and has other positive effects, which you can read about on Estet-portal.com.

Features of ABR peeling and components that it includes

ABR peeling is a cosmetic procedure with  a combination of components, in the name of which alpha-hydroxy acids are hidden under the letter A, under the letter B – beta-hydroxy acids, and under the letter R – vitamin A (retinol). These components can be combined in different ways – depending on the problem for which ABR peeling is supposed to be used. Most often in the ABR-peeling you can find glycolic, salicylic, ascorbic acids, retinol, green tea extract.

The traditional application of ABR peeling is in the cleansing of oily and problematic skin as a median peeling procedure. Despite the rather serious ingredients, ABR peeling is considered a non-aggressive procedure and can be used even in patients with sensitive skin. However, if the patient reports that they have already undergone exfoliation and cleansing of the skin by any method, then the ABR peel is prescribed no earlier than 7 weeks after the previous cleansing procedure. If the patient undergoes complex treatment of problem skin and uses other preparations (for example, with vitamins A, C, proteolytic enzymes), then ABR peeling should be used in minimal exposure.

The essence of the activity of ABR peeling in skin cleansing

Each of the key components of ABR peeling has its own active effect on the skin:

  • salicylic acid – keratolytic and anti-inflammatory agent, cleanses pores and quickly removes dead cells;
  • ascorbic acid – regulates the permeability of vascular walls, enhances cellular immunity, brightens the skin, stimulates the synthesis of collagen and elastin;
  • ANA-acids – stimulate metabolic processes in cells, tone the skin, gently exfoliate it;
  • retinol – regulates melanogenesis, sebum production, affects the regenerative processes in the skin, has an antioxidant effect.

Other ingredients that may be present in an ABR peel complement and enhance its effect: for example, fig extract nourishes the skin and softens it after exfoliation, and green tea extract has antiseptic and healing properties.

Indications, complications and post-peel care when cleansing the skin

ABR peeling is carried out according to clear indications, which include:

  • acne, post-acne;
  • hyperpigmentation;
  • hyperkeratosis;
  • enlarged pores;
  • stagnant spots.

ABR peeling should not be performed on pregnant and lactating women, patients  with  manifestations of herpes, damaged skin, severe sunburn. It is necessary to clarify with the patient questions about taking isotretinoin preparations, about the level of photosensitivity of her skin, about the presence of somatic, endocrinological diseases.

After cleansing  skin with the help of ABR-peeling, complications are possible in the form of hyperemia, edema, peeling, pustular rash, hemorrhagic crusts. The patient should be warned that when caring for the skin at home, you must strictly follow the doctor's instructions, do not tear off the crusts and do not go out into the active sun, then the effects of ABR peeling will be minimized and disappear within a week.
