June 1-2, 2018, a grand congress on aesthetic medicine Medical Aesthetic Synergy Congress was held in Kyiv, which brought together over 80 lecturers. The key difference between MASC and other similar events – it is a scientific approach and the highest level of practical content. The estet-portal.com team acted as a media partner of the event and discussed the most interesting and topical issues with the organizers of the MASC: the President of the Ukrainian Society of Aesthetic Medicine, Doctor of Medical Sciences and Professor of the Department of Dermatovenereology of P.L. Shupyk by Vladimir Tsepkolenko, President of the All-Ukrainian Association of Plastic Reconstructive  and aesthetic surgeons, professor of the department of combustiology and plastic surgery of the NMAPE named after L.P. Shupik, Doctor of Medical Sciences – Vasily Pinchuk, and President of the Ukrainian Academy of Dermatovenereology, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Dermatovenereology of the National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education. P. L. Shupyk by Alexander Litus.

Vladimir Alexandrovich, how do you like the atmosphere of today's event?

Atmosphere is what people create, not walls, not marble ceilings, not crystal chandeliers.

The most important thing is that we were able to attract to our event the very people who make up the light of modern plastic surgery, aesthetic medicine, modern dermatology, gynecology, dentistry and anesthesiology – because safety is also an important part of our work.

We must work as a team. And when one and the same person tries to resolve all issues on his own, then problems, complications and discontent appear. It is precisely this training that the MASC congress and those programs that have been carried out for more than ten years by the Ukrainian Society of Aesthetic Medicine, our department and the clinic that I head - the Virtus Institute of Plastic Surgery, are dedicated to this training. Those who want to learn – let them learn.

Vasily Dmitrievich, why are events like MASC so important for modern doctors?

It is important to understand that the medical profession involves constant learning. Whether you are a traumatologist, surgeon, esthetician, dermatocosmetologist - life does not stand still. All new technologies that appear require study and mastery. Here are events such as MASC, which are organized all over the world, in different countries, at different intervals, they are just a platform where you can exchange views, where you can hear something new, and, of course, introduce these new technologies into your life.

Alexander Ivanovich, what advice can you give to young specialists? What learning resources would you recommend?

Today, there are a huge number of various resources that help young professionals learn modern approaches in dermatology: Derm101.com, American Academy of Dermatovenereology. For example, we have now launched the "Medical Knowledge Hub Dermatology" program, which just allows all the information that is given abroad in English to be received in Russian.

Internet resources — this is an opportunity for online learning, communication between doctors regarding a variety of work issues.

So I'm sure the Medical Knowledge Hub and similar resources, including your estet-portal.com, is a guarantee that the next generation will have more knowledge, faster and wider access to it. In the future, we will have mechanisms in our hands that will significantly improve the provision of medical, including cosmetic care, to patients.
