What role does the human factor play in building your own business?

It's no secret that the success of a business, whether it is small or medium, largely depends on the owner. It is the owner who has a lot of vital, strategic roles. Depending on temperament, character and experience, each owner copes with this or that task in his own way. It is easier for someone to solve marketing problems and find new customers, while for someone it is much easier to deal with analytics and accounting. For some, initially the essence is to build a sustainable, secure business, and for some, the most important – become number 1 at any cost. Twisting the well-known proverb, you can say for sure: "The fish BREATHE its head."

How does the personal psychological portrait of a leader affect the conduct of business?

When building a business, the owner must not only create business plans, set goals and control the performance of his structure. The leader must pay great attention to his personality, sincere awareness and acceptance of his own strengths and weaknesses. A frank assessment of his psychological characteristics and soft skills will help him avoid many mistakes, risks and unjustified waste in the future.

Are there specific tools that can help a manager to make himself as effective as possible for his enterprise?

The first step that every owner must take, – have a frank conversation with yourself about yourself, clearly and frankly define your psychological aspects. This will allow you to save yourself from the catastrophic Dunning-Kruger effect already at the initial stages. The full wording of the effect is: "People with a low level of skill draw erroneous conclusions and make bad decisions, but are not able to realize their mistakes due to their low level of skill."

Misunderstanding of mistakes leads to self-righteousness, and consequently, to increased self-confidence and awareness of one's superiority. Thus, if you do not pay attention to the personality of the leader, the Dunning-Kruger effect becomes an invisible dome that covers him. And under this dome, the owner is absolutely sure of his rightness and ideality and does not notice his mistakes, which in due time leads to an increase in their number.
