A number of modern procedures and techniques that are effectively used in modern aesthetic medicine to correct age-related and other changes in the face and body can be accompanied by injury to healthy tissues. Such procedures often have a certain rehabilitation period and may give some complications. It is with the aim of restoring the patient after such procedures in aesthetic medicine that a new direction has appeared – – restorative cosmetology.
Especially for the readers of estet-portal.com, medical cosmetologist and specialist in the field of restorative cosmetology Polina Lighter spoke about her author's Reface Laitlift System method.
Polina, please tell us more about the method of layered therapy, which you are the author of, for our readers?
The author's method of layer-by-layer therapy ReFace Laitlift System refers to restorative cosmetology - a new direction in aesthetic medicine. What is restorative cosmetology? The aesthetic dysfunctions that we see on the face indicate that the functions under the skin are impaired, that is, the patient is experiencing a functional imbalance. Without restoring these functions, we will not be able to get a full aesthetic result, or it turns out to be temporary. We are talking about age-related changes in the face, premature aging and complications after invasive procedures. We get either a temporary result, or complications, or we don’t get a result at all.
Can your technique be combined with botulinum toxin injections and fillers?
The method can be combined, but a more correct question is when should it be done? The fact is that first you need to restore functions, and this is more likely to apply to injections of hyaluronic acid, which gives volumes. Because if we see the omission of tissues, this already indicates that something is not working right. If we add some extra weight to these tissues, especially for fatty or edematous type of aging, then we can cause complications. Therefore, it is possible and necessary at some stage to combine the ReFace technique with injection methods, since age-related changes in the face occur gradually.
What exactly do you use to lift the nasolabial fold and molar sacs?
The nasolabial folds are descending, and this aesthetic dysfunction indicates the presence of excess tissue weight. Excess weight can be either from fat, namely subcutaneous fat or deep fat packs, or from lymphatic stagnation. Nasolabial fold – it is the fold itself, and what hangs over it. But with certain types of aging, it can be an occlusion problem – junction of the upper and lower jaws. Therefore, my view is this: by restoring the functions, we reduce and lighten the tissues, as a result of which they rise and the line itself looks much smaller. Molar bags – it is a lymphatic congestion, for the correction of which the use of lymphatic techniques is necessary. It is important to apply these techniques on all layers: not only on the surface, but also on the deep,
Is it possible to use the ReFace method with physical training such as yoga or Pilates?Of course, maybe I'm always for physical activity and do certain types of exercises myself. But, most likely, I would advise combining the ReFace method with those loads that work to restore freedom of movement. These include, for example, the rice filling method developed by our Israeli scientist.
