The main function of the human skin is to protect the body from the negative effects of various environmental factors. When the skin encounters mechanical, chemical or any other damaging agents – traces of this collision remain on it. Various rashes, scars, peeling and similar formations – these are marks that are the result of exposure of the skin to the environment. Skin resurfacing is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures aimed at eliminating such manifestations.

Effective beauty treatments for skin resurfacing

The demand for cosmetic skin resurfacing procedures has increased significantly over the past ten years, and therefore new, more effective methods are being developed that provide maximum results with minimal impact on the skin.

The main goal  The use of procedures for skin resurfacing   is an effective cleansing of the skin from unwanted manifestations with minimal traumatic damage to the skin.

Today, there are several main skin resurfacing technologies that are actively used by cosmetologists and can significantly reduce skin imperfections.

Skin resurfacing:

  • use of laser technology for skin resurfacing;
  • radiofrequency ablative skin resurfacing;
  • microdermabrasion – effective method of skin resurfacing.

Using laser technology for skin resurfacing

Laser technologies in aesthetic medicine are a popular and effective method for eliminating skin imperfections. The history of the use of lasers is quite long:

  • back in the 80s, carbon dioxide lasers began to be used for skin resurfacing. Their use made it possible to achieve fairly good results, but was accompanied by the occurrence of such side effects as tissue scarring, depigmentation and a long rehabilitation period.
  • Erbium and pulsed CO2 lasers were later developed, which were much less damaging to the skin, but still had a number of side effects.
  •  since the 2000s, they have been replaced by fractional lasers, which create up to a thousand microperforations per square centimeter of skin and stimulate the production of elastin and collagen. Currently, laser skin resurfacing techniques are combined with other methods of treating skin diseases.

Radiofrequency ablative skin resurfacing

Radiofrequency ablative therapy – Another popular skin resurfacing method. This hardware technique involves the transfer of radio frequency energy into microscopic punctures, which are made using a special nozzle. Due to instant heating, elastin and collagen fibers are reduced, creating the effect of tightening the skin of the face. Radiofrequency ablative therapy is suitable for patients who want to increase skin turgor, eliminate wrinkles, enlarged pores, acne, scars, telangiectasias and pigmentation. Currently, skin resurfacing using ablative radio frequency therapy devices is one of the safest, almost painless and effective procedures.

Microdermabrasion – effective skin resurfacing

The latest and very effective methods of skin resurfacing are diamond microdermabrasion and hydrodermabrasion. The essence of microdermabrasion is the mechanical exfoliation of the upper layer of the epidermis by spraying microcrystals onto the skin. Diamond microdermabrasion is performed using a handpiece with a special diamond tip. The main advantage of this technique is the possibility of grinding the skin around the mouth and eyes. Hydrodermabrasion – This is a spray on the skin of a special water-oxygen solution. Due to the use of a special nozzle, the opening of the pores on the skin is ensured, followed by its thorough cleansing. Hydrodermabrasion is often accompanied by the simultaneous application of various serums to the patient's skin.

Currently, there is a large selection of procedures for skin resurfacing, which makes it possible to choose an individually suitable technique for each patient.

Research in this area continues, existing methods are being improved and new, even more effective techniques are being actively developed to eliminate imperfections and rejuvenate the skin.
