Nature, as you know, has no bad weather. But here is the transition from one season to another — from spring to summer, from summer to winter and from winter to spring — is a serious test even for a healthy body. In autumn, diseases of the skeletal system become aggravated, colds cannot be avoided in winter, and in summer — infectious diseases. Ayurveda explains this by the fact that in each season one of the Doshas prevails — vata (wind), pitta (fire) and kapha (clay). Knowing how to harmonize them correctly, you can painlessly survive the changes in the weather.

Activation of vata in the off-season provokes arthritis

When dry, windy, cold weather sets in (end of autumn-winter, beginning of spring), vata is activated.

This is fraught with diseases of the intestines, nervous system, dry arthritis, exacerbation of chronic systemic diseases, etc.

Changes in weather at this time should be accompanied by a change in diet. It is necessary to introduce warming products (ginger), fermented, oily, hot, giving strength into the menu. As well as strengthening — salty, sweet, sour.

At this time you need:

  • do oil massages on the whole body;
  • Avoid cold, rough, astringent, bitter foods.

Kapha imbalance causes rhinitis, and Pitta — gastritis

When it's cold and damp outside (off-season), kapha gets out of balance.

Weather changes at this time exacerbate diseases of the respiratory system (bronchitis, sinusitis, sinusitis, rhinitis), as well as those associated with tissue growth (tumors, polyps, papillomas, keloid scars). 

At this time you need:

  • limit mucus and fat;
  • avoid heavy, oily, fatty, sour, sweet, salty foods.

To harmonize kapha, food should be light, and drinks — rough, alkaline, astringent, bitter, pungent.

External oiling will help: sesame, flax, mustard.

Sudden warming, heat (summer) provokes pitta.

This is fraught with infectious diseases, inflammatory, febrile conditions. The predominance of Pitta exacerbates ulcers, gastritis, diseases
of the gastrointestinal tract.

At this time, coarse, fatty, fried foods, spicy spices should not be abused. Food and drink should be cool, sweet, astringent, bitter, and food — easy.
