Disease hidradenitis – this is a kind of pyoderma, which refers to various purulent-inflammatory diseases of the skin and sweat glands that occur against the background of infection with pathogens.

Inflammation in hidradenitis occurs when infected with Staphylococcus aureus during sweating, with razor cuts, or spreads with lymph flow from any other body system. Against the general background of the disease – weakened immunity, hormonal disorders, endocrine diseases, overweight. Hydradenitis can be unilateral or bilateral (occurs in one or both armpits).

Hydradenitis treatment. Symptoms and diagnosis of hidradenitis

The onset of the disease is determined by the appearance of small point inflammations on the skin, redness, cuts or other damage to the skin in the place where the sweat glands accumulate (armpits, perineum). Pain occurs at the site of infection when pressed. Poor body hygiene, neglect of the elementary rules of wound disinfection can lead to the rapid development of hydradenitis. The points grow up to 2 cm, become painful, abscesses form. Later, the focus of infection turns into one common abscess, which is characterized by significant swelling and severe pain when touched.

The following symptoms are distinguished:

  1. Increased body temperature.
  2. Severe pain and swelling at the site of inflammation.
  3. Sickness.
  4. Weakness.
  5. Nausea.

The edema matures in a few days and ruptures, which is accompanied by the release of pus and a small amount of blood. It brings relief to the patient.

Treatment of hidradenitis lasts an average of 10-12 days. A noticeable scar is formed at the site of the abscess. Pain after recovery is not observed.

The general similarity of hidradenitis with furunculosis makes it difficult to diagnose the disease, but with “udder” the core does not form, pus flows out easily when ripe.

This disease can be diagnosed by a patient's blood test: leukocytosis, elevated ESR – characteristic signs of hidradenitis, which confirm the reduced immunity and general indifference of the patient.

At the time of the natural opening of the abscess, it is better to disinfect and clean the affected area with medical gloves in order to neutralize the spread of infection to new areas of the skin.

Treatment of hidradenitis: methods indicated in the treatment of hidradenitis

Hydradenitis is treated in several ways: antibiotics, surgery, UHF therapy, folk remedies (think twice what to choose).

  1. Antibiotics are used at the beginning of the disease, they are ineffective in the further course of the disease.
  2. Surgical opening is quite painful, it is better not to delay the visit to the doctor, because. the operation process, cleaning, treatment and healing are quite painful even with painkillers.
  3. UHF therapy – the focus of the disease is affected remotely by ultra-high frequency current pulses. This does not give a special therapeutic effect, as a result, the patient is forced to turn to a surgeon.
  4. Folk remedies for the treatment of hidradenitis can be more effective than the 1st and 3rd methods, but not as radical as the 2nd method. Folk remedies act slowly but surely.
