We often say that music helps us get rid of blues and depression. But it turns out that it can also be useful in the work of child psychotherapists.

Scientists at the British Queen's University have found that therapy with the use of music in children is much more effective than conventional therapy. Such treatment can help children get rid of depression and low self-esteem.

251 volunteers took part in the experiment. They turned out to be children and adolescents who had emotional and behavioral problems, as well as developmental disorders. The scientists divided the participants into two groups: the first consisted of 128 children who received standard treatment. For the remaining 123 children, in addition to conventional therapy, music therapy was also applied.

The results of the study showed that music therapy is much more effective than standard therapy. In volunteers who were treated with music, the level of depression dropped markedly. In addition, these children showed improvement in interactive and communication skills.
