Alginate masks are used in beauty salons and at home to rejuvenate the skin. Sodium alginate – a by-product that, back in 1961, the English biochemist Moore Stanford obtained in the process of extracting iodine from algae. As a result of research, it turned out that this salt has rejuvenating properties. Now sodium alginate, which is obtained from red and brown algae, has become the main component of alginate masks, the other basic component of which is diatomite, which is also called mountain flour – sedimentary rock, the main constituents of which are the remains of diatoms.

What are the beneficial properties of alginate masks?

  2. Diatomite has a good absorbent effect and is not corroded by acids, and is also highly refractory.
