Андрогенетическая алопеция: инъекционный препарат с доказанной эффективностью

Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) – it is a polygenic pathological condition that is the most common form of hair loss and affects about 80% of men and 50% of women throughout life.
Today, androgenetic alopecia is considered as an organ-specific accelerated aging with increased sensitivity of hair follicle fibroblasts to oxidative stress.

According to modern scientific concepts, microscopic follicular inflammation, which is a cofactor of progressive hair loss, plays an important role in the development of alopecia.

This article on estet-portal.com will discuss a new approach in the complex therapy of androgenetic alopecia, combining traditional therapy and the use of a drug based on hyaluronic acid and sodium succinate, which has proven its effectiveness and safety in a clinical study.

The 2nd Congress of the Ukrainian Hair Research Society with International Participation (UHRS 2019), held on February 9-10, 2019 in Kyiv, was devoted to the current problems of modern trichology, including androgenetic alopecia.

The most modern and effective cosmetology techniques aimed at eliminating the visible manifestations of trichological diseases were presented at the event.

Institute Hyalual – developer of effective solutions in aesthetic medicine with a worldwide reputation – presented at the congress the results of a clinical study of the drug Electri, confirming its effectiveness and safety in the fight against the manifestations of androgenetic alopecia in women.

20 patients aged 20-55 years took part in a randomized clinical trial of the efficacy and safety of the use of Electri in the complex treatment of androgenetic alopecia in women.

The first observation group included women who received topical minoxidil 2%, 1 ml twice a day.

The second group of patients was prescribed complex therapy using topical minoxidil 2%, 1 ml twice a day and Electri. Electri was administered for 12 weeks, once every 14 days.

Study Results: Proven Effectiveness of Electri

According to the results of a 12-week randomized clinical trial, the results obtained in the combination therapy with Electri in combination with minoxidil were statistically superior to the results of the group where minoxidil monotherapy was carried out in all main criteria.

The dynamics of the main morphometric parameters of hair (density, average hair diameter) in patients of the first and second groups is shown in the graphs below.

Evaluation of additional efficacy measures of the benefit of combination therapy with Electri and Minoxidil 2% solution by comparative macrophotography showed acceptable results of combined treatment.

Below are also photos before and after combined treatment:

Evaluation of trichoscopic examination for the severity of perifollicular inflammation showed a decrease in hyperemia in the perifollicular zone of the hair follicle.

Combination therapy with Electri resulted in a statistically significant increase in the number of patients with a decrease in the number of telogen hair <15%: 60% compared to 30% with minoxidil alone.

This study confirmed the safety and good tolerability of Electri. No side effects, including scalp irritation, were reported during the studies.

Theoretical substantiation of the practical effectiveness of the drug Electri

Electri contains 0.55% hyaluronic acid and 1.6% sodium succinate. Hyaluronic acid inhibits uncontrolled angiogenesis, cell proliferation, migration of macrophages – that is, it has an anti-inflammatory effect, thereby eliminating an important link in progressive hair loss – follicular inflammation.

In turn, the metabolic action of sodium succinate promotes the initiation of protein synthesis and accelerated regeneration of the hair follicle.

Electri has been proven to be effective and safe in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia in women and can be used by aesthetic medicine professionals to treat progressive hair loss.
