Beauty is a fleeting phenomenon. It takes a lot of effort to keep it going. Plastic surgery is designed to help in this difficult matter. Every day, new, more effective, and less traumatic methods appear in the arsenal of aesthetic surgeons.
The world-famous plastic surgeon, member of ASAPS, ISAPS and SOFCPRE, Herve Raspaldo, told readers of estet-portal.com about such progressive techniques: endoscopic facelift and mini facelift, as well as their main advantages.
E.R.: Endoscopic facelift — this is the method that works best on the upper third of the face, I use it most often for brow lifts or temporal lifts. This method allows us to work through a small incision, thanks to which we get a small and almost invisible scar after the operation.
Endoscopic lifting is faster, safer, and most importantly — better tolerated by patients than traditional facelift. The classic facelift method is more suitable for working with the neck, when excess tissue has to be removed, however, recently, even in this area, I work using the mini-lifting technique, which makes the procedure less traumatic.
Plastic surgery or injections: which methods are more popular today
How long-lasting effect does mini-lifting provide
ER:
The result is quite long - about 12 years. But mini-lifting is best done as early as possible, when there is still no pronounced ptosis of facial tissues. Therefore, if a few years ago we did a facelift at the age of 55-60 years, now these patients are 40-45 years old.
E.R.:
In 80% of cases, in combination with endoscopic lifting, I perform blepharoplasty, a little less often rhinoplasty. Surprisingly, it is rhinoplasty that sometimes allows you to achieve a pronounced and lasting effect of rejuvenation.Often I combine endoscopic facelift and mini-facelift, especially with a uniform type of aging, which allows me to achieve the most harmonious result.
Trends of the future: what will soon be popular in aesthetic medicineER:
15-20 years ago we did use implants quite often, but now that there are fairly dense dermal fillers, this is not really necessary.Plastic surgery is constantly evolving and provides us with new opportunities every day that we could not even think of before.

Endoscopic facelift is a method that is suitable for work in the upper and middle third of the face. I most often use it for brow lifting or for lifting the temporal region (Temporal lift, "Mannequin lift", Eyebrow lift). This method allows us to work through small incisions hidden in the scalp, so we get a minimal and invisible scar after the operation. This method is faster, safer, and most important - better tolerated by patients than the traditional facelift. The classic method of a facelift is more suitable for cheeks and neck, when it is necessary to remove excess tissue.
However, even in this zone, I use an endoscopic video-camera to perform my new technique: the «Mini -Lift», which makes the procedure less traumatic.
How stable is the Mini-LiftThe result is quite long - about 12 years. Mini-lifting is best done as early as possible when there is still no pronounced ptosis of the facial tissues. Therefore, if several years ago we made facelifts at the age of 55-60 years, now we are working with patients close to 40-45 years old.
During the mini-lifting, I also, as with the classical lifting, work with the muscles of the neck, and in the end, I get an excellent result.
Last but not least, Up to 30 years, patients often come to endoscopic eyebrow lifting, and most often …the top models or actors who always need to look great.
With which procedure do you combine endoscopic facelifting
In 80% of cases in combination with endoscopic lifting, I do blepharoplasty, a little less often the rhinoplasty, which sometimes allows achieving a pronounced and long-lasting effect of rejuvenation. Also often I combine endoscopic lifting and mini-facelifting, which allows achieving the most harmonious result, with less down-time than a classical Face-Lift.
Do you use implants for facial plastic surgery
15-20 years ago we have been using implants quite often: malar, chin implants. Now, we have the wonderful dermal fillers and volumizers, which can help to recreate domes and apex for a beautiful face (without surgery).
However, sometime it is still good to have a permanent chin or malar implant!
Plastic surgery is constantly evolving and provides us with daily new opportunities, which we could not even think about earlier. Contact and more information:
