Igor Borisovich Rudenko – dermatovenereologist, cosmetologist, doctor of the highest category.

You have been a practicing doctor for over 10 years. Tell us what are your favorite procedures?

I like all the procedures that I do. There is always a demand for them. My favorites are probably more complex ones: volumetric 3D modeling with fillers, there are interesting moments in botulinum therapy, I do a lot of removal of neoplasms with threads, this is not an easy, but also an interesting direction. Probably, I also love mesotherapy in its direct classical form.

Biorevitalization is no longer so interesting, it is rather a kind of background routine procedure.

You were talking about threads. I know that this is a new method that came to Ukraine quite recently. Tell about it.

In Ukraine, a new method, in the world – no. In principle, a rather ambiguous technique, risky and dangerous. Let's just say it's more complicated than what we've done before. In dermatology, the minimally invasive procedure is rather ambiguous, in terms of its effectiveness it stands between fillers and plastic surgery due to its antiptotic result, in the middle in terms of effectiveness and just the same in terms of the number of complications.

These are not such problems as, say, lifelong deformities, necrosis and nerve damage, but not as simple as, for example, hematomas in contour plastic surgery.

What is the method of threading

How are threads conducted? In fact, this is the creation of an intradermal framework from threads based on polylactic acid, and later – and fibrous bands. The method of conducting is that with the help of needles or cannulas, the threads are inserted under the skin into the subcutaneous fat.

There is a technique for conducting threads in deep layers of fat. The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia and depending on the type of threads, technique, and patient characteristics, one or another result is achieved. They are mainly used to work with ptosis. There are, of course, techniques designed for rehabilitation. Now the so-called meso-threads have appeared.

This procedure is no longer carried out for the purpose of anti-gravity effects, but for the purpose of skin biorevitalization. That is, in fact, it is a kind of thread that is carried out in the layers of the skin. The advantages are that the results are good, the effect lasts for about 2-3 years, but the disadvantage is some complications in the form of granulomas, fibrosis, constrictions, asymmetries, but in principle all side effects are not irreversible.

That is, the desire of the patient is not the reason for the procedure

Absolutely. The desire of the patient is not an indication at all. The indication is exclusively skin ptosis.
