Инъекционные процедуры во время менструации: риски и ощущения

The active, minute-by-minute work schedule of a modern woman does not take into account the biological rhythms of the body, so the onset of menstruation rarely becomes a reason to adjust the order of planned cases, even when it comes to visiting a beautician.

Is it possible to carry out mesotherapy or biorevitalization procedures during menses, inject botulinum toxins and offer the patient other "beauty injections", is actively discussed among specialists. Why injection procedures during menstruation can become problematic, found out estet-portal.com.

Is it possible to prescribe beauty injections during menstruation: lip augmentation, etc.

The basis for disputes and doubts among cosmetologists about whether it is possible to inject botulinum toxins, meso-cocktails, fillers or biorevitalizants during menstruation is serious hormonal changes in a woman's body that precede the start of each menstruation.

As you know, the final phase of the monthly cycle is characterized by significant fluctuations in the production and entry into the blood of sex hormones, which changes not only the emotional, but also the physical state of the woman. For a beautician in these changes, it is important to take into account some factors.

Factors to consider when prescribing injections

  1. The pain threshold is lowered, so injections that were normally uncomfortable for the patient can become completely unbearable on the eve and during menstruation;
  2. In the first days of menstruation, blood clotting can be significantly reduced, which is fraught with the appearance of persistent large hematomas after the injection procedure;
  3. On the eve of menstruation, the body accumulates water, therefore, after procedures with preparations based on hyaluronic acid, pronounced prolonged swelling may occur;
  4. The appearance of purulent pimples and other rashes on the skin of the face, typical of the period of menstruation, becomes a direct contraindication for any injection procedure.

To the listed reasons why it would be worthwhile to refrain from procedures, one should add the extremely unstable emotional background of a woman at the beginning of menstruation.

She tends to exaggerate many phenomena and give them a negative assessment. In particular, it may seem completely unbearable for a patient to think that immediately after the procedure she does not look perfect and has to wait a bit for the final results.

From a medical point of view, there are no significant disturbances of metabolic and other processes in the female body during menstruation and on the eve of it. Therefore, there are no direct contraindications for injection procedures

However, most practicing cosmetologists try to dissuade the patient from the procedure and reschedule it to another time.

Is it possible to do injections during menstruation or not

If you can’t cancel the injection procedure that coincided with the period of menstruation, or transfer it to at least the 4-5th day of menstruation, the cosmetologist will have to proceed from the current situation and try to mitigate the patient’s discomfort as much as possible.

Since the pain during this period is extremely aggravated, you should not count on the effect of applying an anesthetic cream to the skin. It is possible to recommend taking stronger analgesics, which would also contain moderate tranquilizers.

During the period of menstruation, it is better to refuse injection correction of the areas around the eyes and lips – they are especially delicate, and the pain during the procedure may seem unbearable to the patient.

During menstruation, the blood becomes more fluid, its ability to clot decreases. Therefore, it is permissible to carry out only superficial intradermal injections without the risk of extensive hematomas. Deeper injections carry the risk of vascular injury

However, if a woman does not normally suffer from blood clotting disorders, then many cosmetologists do not see any particular risk in injection procedures even during menstruation.

If the patient has a tendency to fluid retention, including in the facial area, then during menstruation it is better to postpone the installation of dense fillers or the introduction of a multi-component meso-cocktail.

An injection of a light biorevitalizant will suffice, but the patient must be warned that there is a risk of swelling, which, however, will disappear in a maximum of a week.
