Age-related changes in the face with which patients turn to a cosmetologist can be conditionally divided into two categories: those that are sometimes even able to give a woman a special charm – like the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes, and those that make her look older.
Cosmetologists refer to such serious deformities as changes in the lower third of the face. Dmitry Garbuzov, MD, dermatologist the highest category.
Why do you consider the middle third of the key area when correcting age-related changes in the face?
DG As a result of age-related changes, the middle third suffers the most, this is both a loss of volume and height in an upright position. It is here that the age-related changes that occur with patients are most strongly affected. Therefore, contouring of this area of the face is the most effective and indicative process that allows you to recreate the volumes lost with age on the face.
Contouring of the middle third of the face is the primary indication for a patient who comes for the first time for an anti-aging correction procedure. This is not only my opinion, but also that of many experts who admit that only after filling the volume, in the absence of shadows and relief differences in the middle third of the face, we can talk about filling other, also very important, anatomical areas of the entire face.
What are the main principles of contouring performed in the area of the middle third of the face?
D.G. First of all, the cosmetologist must know the topographic and anatomical structure of this area, because most of the – according to some reports, more than 80% during the correction of this area of the face and during the contour plastic procedure in general – come precisely from ignorance of the most important danger zones, various points of fixation, the structure of fat packages, ligaments, muscles, and so on. This is important in the first place.
The second important knowledge for a doctor is – this, of course, is the anatomical justification for the procedure. It is very important not to simply follow some instructions given by managers who sell drugs, but to be, first of all, a professional and evaluate the layer under the dermis where we will implant the fillers. The filler, first of all, should not create an additional contoured volume, but remain invisible to others.
Today, the most important request for contour plastic surgery– it is the invisibility of the changes that occur after the procedure. The patient, coming to the procedure, first of all asks: will it be noticeable. Today, the general trend, and by the way it was in Europe, is now beginning to spread among our patients - this is invisibility, and not a transformation of appearance, but only a rejuvenating effect after contouring.
How to choose the right type of filling preparation depending on the age of the patient?
D.G. Here, the qualification of a doctor is important, who can professionally assess, first of all, the anatomical validity of the use of a particular drug, the condition of the patient's subcutaneous fat, general the state of his body. Of course, one should take into account the presence of contraindications in a particular area of the face: if we are talking about the middle third – this is the presence of various disorders of lymph flow, pastosity, lymphostasis.
If the patient has a large number of doubtful factors regarding the correction of this area of the face, and the patient is old, we should opt for a milder preparation. A mistake made in connection with the wrong choice of drug can lead to the fact that the effects of the procedure will remain visible for a long time, sometimes even several years.
