Labioplasty, or plastic surgery of the labia, is becoming an increasingly frequent operation, which is used by patients of aesthetic clinics. Enlarged labia minora is a fairly common phenomenon, which is more often congenital, but may also be the result of certain diseases. It does not pose a threat to health, but it causes a lot of discomfort, including during sexual activity.
Plasty of the labia helps to eliminate defects and give this intimate area an attractive appearance, which significantly increases the patient's self-confidence and improves the quality of her sexual life. Two patients, sisters, came to the clinic with complaints of excessive labia minora.
Patient N., 35 years old. According to the woman, the labia increased after the birth of the child.
On examination, there is significant hypertrophy of the labia minora, type 3 according to Franko.
Operation. The patient underwent laser labioplasty using the so-called "lazy letter S" method under local anesthesia. The operation was performed using a CO2 laser. In addition to resection of the labia, laser skin resurfacing (fractional thermolysis) of the labia majora and the clitoral hood was also performed, which made it possible to lighten the skin of the intimate area, improve its quality and appearance, and also reduce a slight excess of the skin of the clitoral hood.
Recommendations: Flush the stitches with chlorhexidine solution after each visit to the toilet for 3 days. The sutures do not need to be removed as the wound was sutured with absorbable sutures.
Result: The patient noted that there was no blood at all and she felt no pain at all.
The patient was very satisfied with the result of the operation. She noted that her sex life has improved, and in addition, the discomfort during sports has disappeared. The clitoral orgasm has especially improved due to the increased sensitivity of the clitoris.
Patient O., aged 32.
On examination - also hypertrophy of the labia minora, type 2 according to Franco.
Operation. Under local anesthesia, laser labioplasty was performed using the sectoral resection method. In addition, laser resurfacing of the skin of the labia majora and the hood of the clitoris was performed.
Recommendations: the same - rinse the stitches with a solution of chlorhexidine after each visit to the toilet for 3 days. There is no need to remove sutures.
Result: the patient also noted that she did not feel any pain at all. The aesthetic appearance of the labia has significantly improved, which added confidence to the woman in her sexual life.
Summary. Laser labioplasty can become the "gold standard" in the elimination of defects in the labia minora. It allows you to simultaneously perform an operation to reduce them, and at the same time improve the appearance and quality of the skin in the intimate area.
When performing surgery with a laser, it is very convenient to cut soft tissue without the need to stretch the delicate tissue.
