Rosacea – symptoms, features and principle of treatment
Rosacea – a chronic disease that affects mainly the middle third of the face, can develop at any age, most often in women after 30 years.
In the initial stage, the disease manifests as redness of the cheeks, nose, chin and/or forehead in response to factors such as stress, exposure to ultraviolet radiation, extreme temperatures, wind, spicy food, alcohol, physical exposure or cosmetics.
Over time, erythema becomes persistent, against its background, rosacea begins to appear.

Without adequate treatment of rosacea in the erythematous-telangiectatic form, which, along with redness and rosacea, is also characterized by burning sensations, tightness, tingling, swelling of the skin, peeling, the disease can turn into more severe forms – papulo-pustular rashes appear on the skin, damage to the tissues of the nose and involvement of the eyes in the pathological process (ophthalmic rosacea) are possible.
Rosacea Therapy
For therapeutic purposes, systemic and topical preparations are used that relieve redness, eliminate rashes, and have an anti-inflammatory effect. Lasers and other hardware techniques are often used to remove visible blood vessels.
The treatment plan for rosacea is made individually, depending on the stage and symptoms of the disease.
Lifestyle modification is an important part of any treatment plan and plays an important role in controlling rosacea. It is important for the patient to identify the triggers that provoke and exacerbate the manifestation of symptoms, and avoid them if possible.
In home skin care it is also important to follow certain rules for rosacea:
- Choose gentle, non-abrasive skin cleansers;
- Use products for sensitive skin with rosacea;
- Apply sunscreen with UVA/UVB protection and an SPF of at least 30 daily.
The portfolio of TOTISPHARMA GROUP includes a wide range of products for the treatment of rosacea, which are aimed at reducing skin sensitivity, eliminating redness, reducing inflammation, strengthening blood vessels, as well as the correct home care.
Mesotherapy INNO-TDS Redness-ID – reduced skin sensitivity and redness
INNO-TDS Redness-ID (Innoaesthetics) has a powerful anti-inflammatory effect, restores the barrier function of the skin, thereby increasing protection against external factors that can affect sensitive skin and increase the manifestations of rosacea. In addition, it prevents the formation of telangiectasias (spider veins) and other vascular changes caused by endogenous or exogenous factors.
Indications for use:
- Sensitive skin;
- Skin prone to redness;
- Rosacea (erythematous-telangiectatic form).
Active Ingredients:
1. Complex for strengthening the vascular system (extract of sweet clover (Meliloto) and Rutin). On the one hand, Meliloto increases venous tone and reduces capillary permeability, thereby promoting the reabsorption of interstitial proteins. In addition, it stimulates the contraction of the lymphangion and expands the precapillary sphincter. On the other hand, Rutin has a direct venotonic effect, which regulates the synthesis and degradation of proteoglycans and affects microcirculation, inhibiting platelet aggregation and contributing to the deformation of erythrocytes.
2. Niacinamide and Dexpanthenol. Nicotinamide is a substrate that promotes the synthesis of the enzyme poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 (PARP-1), which is activated by ultraviolet radiation. PARP-1 has many important properties such as DNA repair and genomic stability, as well as the regulation of several transcription factors, especially those associated with expression of inflammatory cytokines, chemokines, adhesion molecules, and inflammatory mediators. Due to its hygroscopic properties, Dexpanthenol improves skin hydration and retains moisture. In addition, this ingredient can also repair the epidermal barrier. In particular, it was shown that dexpanthenol interacts with lipid segments of extracellular layers and protein residues of corneocytes located in the stratum corneum. Therefore, it compensates for molecular hydration by improving molecular flow.
3. Extract of Centella asiatica (Asiaticoside). Several studies have shown that when applied topically, this component increases the level of enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidants in tissues. Asiaticoside increases the level of hydroxyproline in the skin and improves tissue strength, promotes collagen production and epithelialization of the skin. Specifically, its mechanism of action induces the synthesis of type I collagen in dermal fibroblast cells by phosphorylation of SMAD2 and SMAD3. In cosmetics, this active ingredient is used as an effective anti-aging agent, as it promotes the formation of type I collagen, which decreases with age. Counts, that many of the skin benefits of Centella asiatica extract are in Madecassoside – a component that induces collagen expression by activation of the SMAD signaling pathway.
INNO-EXFO Redness peeling for sensitive and redness-prone skinThe combination of active ingredients in
INNO-EXFO Redness (Innoaesthetics) peeling helps to restore the skin's protective barrier, reduce inflammation and increase skin radiance.
Indications for use:
- sensitive skin;
- skin prone to redness;
- rosacea (erythematous-telangiectatic form).
Application protocol:
1. Cleanse skin with INNO-DERMA® Cleanser; Soft Cleanser.2. Apply an even layer (2 ml) to the skin with a brush.
3. Leave to act for 3-5 minutes.
4. Neutralize peeling with INNO-EXFO®; Neutralizer. Rinse with water..
Active Ingredients:
1. Lactic Acid: Found in the skin as part of the skin's natural moisturizing factor (NMF). Helps balance skin's natural moisture levels and produces minimal irritant effects when used at low concentrations.
2. Salicylic Acid: Restores normal keratinization, reduces inflammation and sebum production, and has anti-inflammatory properties. For optimal anti-inflammatory effect, concentrations of 0.5% to 5% are required. Salicylates and their derivatives are used to create sunscreens. The aromatic benzene ring in salicylate converts ultraviolet radiation into longer wavelength radiation that is felt as heat, thus effectively protecting against solar radiation. In addition, it has antimicrobial and antifungal properties.
3. Mandelic Acid: The physical and chemical properties of this ingredient allow it to penetrate the skin slowly and in a controlled manner. Mandelic acid is well tolerated by patients with sensitive skin, without causing inflammation or irritation. The aromatic ring in the structure of mandelic acid turns this ingredient into a lipophilic compound. In an acidic environment, shows bacteriostatic and bactericidal properties.

REDNESS (Innoaesthetics) Daily Cream prevents and reduces redness while enhancing the skin's natural defenses. Controls skin hyperreactivity and reduces flushing caused by internal and external factors. Keeps skin hydrated, radiant and even-toned.
Active ingredients and properties:
1. Anti-Redness Complex: rich in flavonoids, saponosides and procyanidins that improve microcirculation, strengthen vein walls and reduce redness. It reduces hyper-reactivity of the skin and provides the skin with the minerals and polysaccharides it needs to maintain the skin's natural balance.
2. Shea butter: consists of triglycerides of stearic, oleic and linoleic acids, which have powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that inhibit enzymes (inducible NO synthase and COX-2) and cytokines. Shea butter is also rich in vitamins A, D, E and F, which have moisturizing, revitalizing and soothing properties.
3. Dextran Sulfate: has a powerful anti-inflammatory effect by inhibiting the secretion of COX-2 and prostaglandins. Improves microcirculation, reduces redness and fights photoaging. It protects the genome from harmful UV rays and promotes cell renewal.
4. Lactobionic Acid: A mild polyhydroxy acid that strengthens the skin barrier and stimulates epidermal regeneration by increasing collagen fiber production and improving skin elasticity. This prevents water loss and neutralizes free radicals generated by UV radiation.
5. Butcher's broom and Ginkgo biloba extracts, Troxerutin and Gluconolactone: a mixture of ingredients with venotonic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. They neutralize free radicals, reduce capillary permeability and increase their resistance, soothing skin irritation and reducing redness.
