Burns are one of the most common types of injuries sustained in the course of hostilities. Their treatment should be timely, because the defeat of large areas of the skin can be life threatening. To help the wounded, an innovative social project was created, supported by Marina Poroshenko.
The patronage of the wife of the President of Ukraine was received by the Skin Bank. Burn Treatment project, which has been in existence since the end of last year. The goal of the project is to provide assistance to ATO participants and civilians affected by hostilities to cope with burns, because these types of injuries are the most common during the war.
On January 23, Marina Poroshenko visited the Kyiv City Center for Thermal Injuries and Plastic Surgery, where she, together with the General Director of the medical company Ilaya Alexei Shershnev, coordinators of the "People's Project", as well as the head physician of the burn center Anatoly Voronin, presented an innovative social project that aimed at treating those who suffered from burns using cellular technologies.
There, the organizers of the event spent time communicating with patients and discussing the priorities and goals of cooperation. During a press conference for the media, Marina Poroshenko noted that such a national product should be proud of, because this technology can be implemented by our doctors at the highest level. The President's wife urged to support the project in order to help people return to normal life as soon as possible.
The main feature of the project is that in order to quickly and efficiently restore the skin after burns, donor cell material is used.
Treatment is provided by the Kyiv City Center for Thermal Injuries and Burns, the feasibility of providing assistance under the project is determined by its doctors. In order to participate in the project and become a donor, you need to contact the Ilaya Medical Center, where, after passing the examination, you can undergo a painless and safe procedure for taking adipose tissue.
