At the International Congress of Anti-Aging Medicine in Monaco, among other things, the development of a Korean company for obtaining platelet-rich plasma using any centrifuge was presented – I-STEM set. What is the peculiarity of this development, read more…

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is concentrated blood-derived platelets that are rich in growth factors that speed up the healing process. To be called platelet-rich plasma, it must contain more than 1,000,000 µl of platelets.

The buffy coat contains the highest number of platelets and leukocytes after centrifugation. The leukocyte layer makes up 1% of the total amount of blood.

The more platelet-poor plasma is included in the platelet-rich plasma, the more mixture can be obtained. However, such a mixture cannot be called platelet-rich plasma, and it has no therapeutic effect, since it contains a small number of platelets.

Key Benefits of I-STEM Kit

  • possibility to clearly see the leukocyte layer;
  • set size suitable for all types of centrifuges;
  • Protective wings.

The Y-tube is equipped with a minimum of 1 pair of protective wings to support the upper portion of the tube, which is larger and heavier than the lower portion.

Patented protective wings prevent tube damage during centrifugation. They also allow you to get an ideal leukocyte layer.

It is also worth noting that the I-STEM kit allows you to obtain platelet-rich plasma with a platelet concentration 10 times higher than normal.

Benefits of using platelet-rich plasma from the I-STEM kit

  • no rejection of autologous blood;
  • quick and simple procedure;
  • no need for incisions;
  • noticeable and lasting results.

Using the I-STEM Kit

  1. Blood Draw: Draw 2 cc of anticoagulant (ACD-A) and 17 cc of blood into a 20cc syringe.
  2. In-Tubing Blood Collection: Inject blood into the Y-tube of the I-STEM kit.
  3. Centrifugation: blood separation is only one centrifugation cycle. No need for a second centrifugation.
  4. Platelet Rich Plasma Extraction: Kit 2 – 3 cubes of platelet-rich plasma in a 3 ml syringe.

I-STEM Applications

  1. Dermatology.
  2. Orthopedics.
  3. Treatment of alopecia.
  4. Plastic surgery.
  5. Ophthalmology.
