A person can live without food for several weeks, for several days – without water, but without oxygen, the human body can do only a few minutes. Oxygen is necessary for every cell of our body, and the work of all systems in it is arranged in such a way that vital oxygen is received and delivered to every cell of the body. If, under the influence of certain factors, some organ or structure of the body experiences oxygen starvation – his performance is deteriorating significantly. Oxygenation – This is a set of methods aimed at saturating the body with oxygen, which is actively used in cosmetology.

Oxygenation in cosmetology: methods of skin oxygenation

The condition of the skin depends very much on the saturation of its cells with oxygen. Age, cigarette smoke and alcohol, malnutrition and many other negative factors that often appear in a person's daily life lead to oxygen starvation of skin cells, resulting in a significant deterioration in its condition and appearance.

Oxygenation is used in modern cosmetology to saturate the whole organism, including skin cells, with the necessary oxygen.

Against the background of such therapy, the appearance and well-being of patients significantly improves.

Oxygenation:

  • hyperbaric and normobaric oxygenation: application in cosmetology;
  • ways of delivering oxygen to the patient's body;
  • what benefits does oxygenation bring to the body.

Hyperbaric and normobaric oxygenation: application in cosmetology

In clinical practice, oxygenation is carried out in two ways and is divided into hyperbaric and normobaric oxygenation:

  • hyperbaric oxygen therapy – it is a treatment with compressed oxygen, the partial pressure of which is more than 0.1 MPa. Such antihypoxic therapy saturates the body with oxygen well, but has a number of limitations and contraindications, therefore, this method of oxygenation is not used in modern cosmetology.
  • normobaric oxygen therapy – This is a therapeutic application of various gas mixtures with an increased oxygen content at normal atmospheric pressure. This method of oxygenation has practically no contraindications and is widely used in cosmetology.

Ways to deliver oxygen to the patient

For normobaric oxygenation, sources of oxygen can be compressed gas or liquid oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators, or oxygen enrichment systems. Oxygen is supplied to the patient's body in the following ways:

  • inhalation method – oxygen is supplied through special masks or cannulas. This method provides the patient with maximum comfort and the ability to speak, drink and eat, but at the same time the maximum inhaled oxygen concentration does not exceed 40%;
  • alpha capsules – These are special health-improving installations into which oxygen enters at normal atmospheric pressure. In addition to oxygen therapy, the capsule has the possibility of using various external cosmetics;
  • oxygen cocktails – it is a method of enteral oxygenation in which oxygen enters the human body through the digestive tract;
  • oxygen baths – it is a method of saturating the body with oxygen by penetrating the skin from fresh water that is physically saturated with oxygen.

What benefits does oxygenation bring to the body

Oxygenation – this is a very useful procedure for the body, the effect of which is noticeably felt by the patient.

Under the influence of oxygen therapy, the saturation of arterial blood with oxygen increases, all metabolic processes in the body improve, since oxygen affects the metabolic activity of cells. Oxygen therapy helps to reduce tissue edema, activate regenerative and trophic processes in the skin, bones, muscles and even peripheral nerves. Skin cells that receive sufficient oxygen will work at full strength, transforming the patient's skin after just a few sessions of oxygen therapy.
