– Andrey Nikolaevich, you have a vast experience of working in public medical centers, you have trained in clinics in several European countries, why did you now prefer to work in the Medical Club?

– Perhaps, any person, as they reach a certain age and professional level, wants to do something that they have never done before, implementing the ancient Latin principle “Videremajusquiddam”, which means – "Striving for something more."

For me, as a doctor and surgeon,  this means, above all, the ability to constantly be at the "forefront" of ophthalmological knowledge, apply the most advanced individual techniques in the diagnosis and surgery of the most severe eye diseases. It was simply not possible to implement all this in the conditions of a state clinic. The second key reason was the lack of conditions and motivation for individual work  with the patient.

For many years, at the end of an operating or regular consultative day, when you had to take & nbsp; and operate on dozens of patients, I didn’t really remember anything – no matter what their name is,  no eyes  was inspected, and with what problem. There was just a flow of patients and standard treatment. For an individual approach, there was simply a catastrophic lack of time, and, to be honest, no incentive. The main criteria of our work were quantitative indicators (bed days and the number of patients treated), and not qualitative ones (efficiency of operations and patient satisfaction).

That's why I always wanted to work in a clinic where the patient and the doctor are –full  participants in the process of developing individual tactics  treatment. Since there are no standard patients, there can be no standard treatments. It is in this, in my deep conviction, & nbsp; and there is a key to solving the main problem – preservation and improvement of vision for each of our patients.

And yet, the personality of the head of the "Medical Club" clinic played a decisive role in my choice. - Andrey Leonidovich Kharkov – doctor of medical sciences, a surgeon with a capital letter, a leader, a person who created a unique clinic and a team of like-minded professionals. – When you made your choice in favor of the Medical Club clinic, did you focus on  any special facilities, techniques, equipment that the clinic can provide?

– When, in October 2014, when we met with Andrey Leonidovich and he offered to start working together, the clinic did not have an ophthalmological direction and, accordingly, any specialized equipment. There was only one condition on his part: the highest quality and comfortable level of ophthalmic care with minimal risks for the patient, which has always been the hallmark of the Medical Club clinic.

In just 1.5 months, the department presented the best diagnostic and surgical samples from the world's leading manufacturers (USA, Switzerland, Japan).

Since I have worked in a state clinic for more than 22 years, I understood perfectly well that there is a fundamental difference in the attitude towards the patient in state structures and in private clinics. We faced a difficult task - to adopt all the best practices in communication and individualization of work with the patient, which is typical for a private clinic, and introduce our own approaches that made it possible to obtain the most effective results, worked out & nbsp; years of work in a leading state clinic.

– Indeed, in Ukraine and Kiev there are already a sufficient number of private ophthalmological centers, which creates conditions for healthy competition for the patient. In a nutshell, our benefits are:
