Проявления акне и постакне: причины кожных дефектов и их исправление

When it comes to acne and post-acne, cosmetic skin defects are most often presented in the form of scars that remain in place of illiterately removed inflammatory elements. However, the concept of post-acne is much broader and covers a whole range of cosmetic skin imperfections that significantly reduce the patient's quality of life. We are talking about persistent erythema, and uneven texture, and pigmentation disorders, and other skin lesions. Estet-portal.com recalls that the severity of post-acne depends not only on how severe the acne skin lesion was, but also on the timeliness of professional treatment of this disease.

Manifestations of acne and post-acne, causes of their exacerbations

Many cosmetologist's patients are familiar with the problem of acne firsthand. Some have inflammatory elements to varying degrees during puberty, some have acne during pregnancy, and some first experience acne on the face during perimenopause

Acne symptoms require serious professional treatment. Any attempts to remove acne on your own can provoke noticeable skin defects, the correction of which will require considerable effort and time.

However, many patients come to the cosmetologist already with post-acne manifestations as a consequence of attempts at self-treatment:
•    skin scars;
•    stagnant spots;
•    post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation;
•    uneven skin texture.

Post-Acne – it's not just the unpleasant results of acne self-treatment. This is a complex of cosmetic defects, which are the result of an increase in the production of sebum and a change in its chemical composition. The long course of the disease without proper professional treatment causes permanent changes in the structure of the skin.

•    Enlarged pores. Hyperfunction of the sebaceous glands and excessive secretion production, combined with external pollution, leads to a long-term expansion of the gland duct, thickening of its walls. The horny layer of the skin thickens, the texture of the skin becomes uneven.
•    Persistent skin erythema and dilated capillaries. The reason can be any mechanical effect on the inflamed foci: cosmetic mechanical cleanings, their opening or independent unskilled removal of papules and pustules. At the same time, microcirculation is disturbed, cyanotic spots are formed. The aesthetic condition of the skin is especially worse in the cold season, when spots and scars are especially noticeable.
•    Acne scars. The reason for their formation can be electrocoagulation of inflamed acne foci, opening of closed comedones with a needle, frequent mechanical cleanings. At the same time, along with injury to the skin, there is a violation of capillary circulation, and reparative processes are disrupted.

Loose uneven skin texture, pigmentation disorders, bluish spots on the skin worsen the quality of life of the patient no less than the presence of post-acne scars, and require specialized treatment.

Some methods of correction of acne and post-acne manifestations

When it comes to the correction of enlarged pores, a good effect in controlling sebum secretion can be achieved with preparations containing retinoids. In addition, they significantly reduce the thickness of the stratum corneum and improve skin texture. The disadvantage of treating acne and post-acne with retinoids is that the therapeutic effect can be observed several months after the start of treatment.

To correct hyperkeratosis in acne and post-acne, topical preparations containing salicylic, adelaic or fruit acids will help.

They also contribute to the normalization of the mouths of the sebaceous glands and cleanse the ducts, dissolving the sebaceous secret. Such drugs can be used not only in the salon, but also in home care. However, acids should not be used for longer than 4-5 months. Once every 2 weeks, a chemical peel with the same acids is useful.

To reduce the manifestations of persistent erythema in post-acne, drugs with a local irritating effect based on camphor, menthol, nicotinamide are used. They help improve microcirculation in the upper layers of the skin and tissue trophism. Vasodilators are perfectly combined with superficial chemical peels and preparations with a high content of ascorbic acid. This combination contributes to the correction of post-acne hyperpigmentation.

Physiotherapeutic methods of treatment – cryotherapy, ultrasonic and laser treatment, darsonvalization, vacuum massage.

Intradermal microinjections during mesotherapy and biorevitalization give good results, they improve lymphatic drainage, improve microcirculation, increase skin elasticity.
