Nose plastic surgeries are considered to be one of the most difficult operations in aesthetic surgery, but these surgical interventions are among the most popular and in demand today.
Honored Doctor of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences and Professor of Otorhinolaryngology Oleg Anatolyevich Kompaniets on the eve of the scientific and practical program Visiting Professor Program II, where he will conduct a live training operation on closed rhinoplasty, especially for readers of estet-portal.com answered the TOP 5 questions about rhinoplasty.
Why nose job is considered one of the most difficult surgeries
I agree with many of my colleagues that there is no more complex operation in plastic surgery. After all, it is necessary to coordinate the bone-cartilaginous framework of the nose and the skin. Thus, we are dealing with at least three different types of fabrics. There are no such situations in other operations.
What are the most difficult cases of rhinoplasty in your practice
I believe that absolutely every case is unique and requires a serious approach and respect.
I know many examples when doctors got an undesirable result on the simplest manipulations.
There are operations that require less or more effort. This is especially true for reoperations. It can also be difficult when you need to combine plastic surgery on the nose with the restoration of its function.
What are the most advanced rhinoplasty techniques you use
There are no progressive or non-progressive techniques in nose plastic surgery.
It is important to be familiar with all existing methods and use the best method that allows you to effectively solve a specific problem.
What are the most common requests for plastic surgery on the nose by clients lately?
As a rule, there are a lot of wishes, and each of them is individual. But in the end it all comes down to one – the patient wants to get a very specific consciously chosen shape of the nose when there are no traces of interference.
Are there times when you refuse an operation? For example?
There are. For example, if the patient cannot decide on the final result. Such a person cannot be operated on, because he will never be satisfied with the changes anyway, even in the case of a successful operation. It happens when, for medical reasons, it is impossible to perform an operation at all or it is impossible at the moment. In the second case, we either conduct an additional examination, or – treatment until there are no contraindications.
