  • discharge from the eyes is moderate and mucopurulent at the beginning of the disease, then it becomes abundant and purulent;
  • Infiltration, vascularization and edema are often observed in the area of ​​the upper limbus;
  • a few days after the onset of the disease on the side of the lesion, the anterior lymph nodes increase, noise and pain in the ear may appear, and hearing loss.

Main treatments for chlamydial conjunctivitis

Treatment for chlamydial conjunctivitis is conservative and should be started as early as possible. The therapeutic regimen implies a long-term use of medications. For several months, patients are prescribed sulfonamides or antibacterial drugs from the group of macrolides, tetracyclines or fluoroquinolones in the form of ointments or eye drops. A few weeks after the acute inflammatory process subsides, solutions of glucocorticosteroids or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are instilled into the eyes for a week.     Я никогда не ожидала, что хламидиозный конъюктевит такое распространенное заболевание. Мне всегда казалось, что это что-то из разряда казуистики. Но на сегодняшний день я очень плотно сотрудничаю с офтальмологами и своих пациентов отправляю к ним на консультации и лечение. Оказалось, то что мы раньше принимали за простой блефарит...., сегодня диагностика более точная. Соответственно и лечение стало эффективнее. Спасибо за статью!
