After this time, the drug is no longer in the muscles, but the result of its work remains – interruption of the transmission of nerve impulses to muscle fibers. In this regard, some restrictions on injections of botulinum toxin preparations:

have been lifted
  • there is no longer a need for the patient to be in an upright position for 4 hours after the procedure, as well as to refuse to play sports, drink alcohol, visit the sauna, and so on;
  • 30 seconds after the injection of the botulinum toxin preparation, meso-cocktails, biorevitalizants, fillers or threads can be injected into the same area;
  • repeat injections of botulinum toxin preparations can be as often as necessary for the patient, however, it is recommended to inject into the same area no more than once every two months.

Full face – optimal method of administering botulinum toxin preparations

For a long time, specialists have been injecting botulinum toxin preparations into certain areas of the face that required correction. Currently, it is believed that the optimal method for administering botulinum toxin preparations is full face, that is, injections into different areas of the entire face.

This is explained by the fact that the blockade of certain muscles of the face provokes compensatory hypertonicity of other muscles, which, consequently, leads to the formation of new mimic wrinkles. For example, the introduction of botulinum toxin into the muscles between the eyebrows often causes hypertonicity of the muscles of the nose and the inner corner of the eye. It is important to distribute the dose of the drug over the entire face so that the ratio between depressor and levator muscles is 3:1.
