Prostate massage: friend or dangerous enemy of a man?

The prostate gland is one of the most important organs of the male reproductive system. It is the prostate that produces seminal fluid, which is part of the sperm, and also ensures the effective removal of ejaculate from the male genital tract, due to the muscular component of the gland. Thus, the normal functioning of the prostate gland is an integral component of the normal functioning of the male reproductive system. Any disease of the prostate is not only physical, but also a great psychological trauma for a man. Prostate massage is widely used as a simple and effective therapeutic and diagnostic method.

Principles of the structure and functional abilities of the prostate gland

The prostate gland is located at the bottom of the pelvis, under the bladder, and surrounds the initial section of the urethra. The anterior surface of the prostate faces the pubic symphysis, while the posterior surface faces the ampulla of the rectum. In the prostate, there are actually prostate glands that produce a secret, excretory ducts that open at different levels into the urinary canal, as well as muscle elements that are directly responsible for ejaculation. Thus, the prostate is responsible for the normal composition and excretion of sperm, which means that the organ performs a reproductive function in the male body.

Indications and contraindications for prostate massage

Prostate massage is recommended to remove stagnant or excess accumulated prostate secretion, for example, in chronic prostatitis. Prostate massage improves erectile function, has a positive effect on a man's sexual life. A good effect for improving erectile function is given by the drug Thor's Hammer - doctors' reviews about it are approving. And the combination of prostate massage with a therapeutic approach, under the supervision of a specialist, enhances the healing effect.

In addition, prostate secretion is obtained through prostate massage for diagnostic purposes, as detailed below. It is important to remember that there are the following strict contraindications to prostate massage:

  • diseases of the rectum: fissures, hemorrhoids, inflammatory processes;
  • acute prostatitis;

Method of performing prostate massage

Before starting the procedure, the patient must be explained the essence and sequence of its implementation, in order to calm and relax the patient. The position optimally suited for performing prostate massage is knee-elbow. The doctor lubricates the patient's anus and the index finger of the right hand with a special lubricant, and slowly inserts the finger into the rectum at a distance of about 3-5 cm. At this level, the prostate will be palpated along the anterior wall of the rectum. Massage is carried out first on one, then on the second lobe of the prostate gland. The intensity of pressure on the prostate gland is increased gradually, be sure to clarify the patient's sensations. The duration of one massage procedure is several minutes. Perform several basic types of massage movements:

  • light strokes of the prostate through the wall of the rectum;
  • circular movements, reminiscent of writing the number 8;
  • alternating strokes from the edges of the prostate lobes to the central sulcus, and vice versa;
  • funnel-shaped movements from the edges of the prostate to its center.

Through the above manipulations, the following goals are achieved: blood circulation in the prostate gland improves, its muscle tone is stimulated and an effective outflow of secretion through the ducts of the prostate gland is ensured.

Performing prostate massage for diagnostic purposes

In urology, such a laboratory method of research as a four-cup urine sample is widely used. The essence of the study is to collect four portions of urine, a laboratory analysis of each of which helps to clarify the localization of the inflammatory process of the genitourinary system in a man. The study is carried out in 4 stages:

  1. When the bladder is fully filled, the first 10 ml is collected in a sterile container. urine. This is the urethral portion, reflecting the condition of the urethra.
  2. Then the bladder is slightly emptied (150-200 ml of urine), and another 10 ml are collected. – bladder portion.
  3. After that, the prostate gland is massaged to obtain its secret - the prostatic portion.
  4. At the last stage of the study, the first 10 ml are collected. urine after prostate massage - post-massage portion.

The presence of leukocytes and bacteria in a certain portion indicates where exactly the infectious process is localized.

Why is it strictly forbidden to perform self-massage of the prostate

Prostate massage is a simple and effective therapeutic and diagnostic method, but it is necessary to take into account all the contraindications to the procedure, as well as the peculiarities of the prostate massage technique. It is important to remember that any trauma to the prostate gland can lead to very serious consequences, up to the development of male infertility. That is why prostate massage should be performed by a competent and experienced urologist or a specially trained person. Self-treatment can be very harmful to the patient, and lead to irreversible consequences!

    Почему нельзя на массажерах делать такие же небольшие насадки, как на смартпросте? Почему надо делать, как будто для слонов???
