Cancer is commonly referred to as various malignant tumors arising from cells of mucous or so-called epithelial tissues. However, some mucous things are not enough. So, sarcomas come from connective tissues, and melanomas, lymphogranulomatosis and other types of malignant tumors stand apart, and therefore there is no universal remedy for all such formations of a different nature. Each of them requires a certain treatment, doctors say, thereby refuting the myth that cancer cannot be beaten. Along the way, doctors refute various rumors and advise not to be a prisoner of delusions.

Diagnosed early, many cancers are curable

MYTH #1. Cancer patients are doomed. A tumor diagnosed at the first stage is practically curable. Patients who lived five years after the operation, in the future, are not inferior in life expectancy to their peers.

MYTH #2. Metastases can spread due to surgery. This is possible if the so-called ablastika, a special complex that prevents the spread of cancer cells throughout the body, was not performed during the operation. Therefore, such operations are preferable in specialized clinics rather than in general hospitals.

MYTH #3. A benign tumor always develops into a malignant one. This is not the case for most types of tumors. But it is true about papillomas, polyps of the stomach and intestines, fibroadenomas of the mammary gland.

MYTH #4. Cancer makes people go bald. This is due to chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Modern targeted methods have very little effect on the body and do not provoke profuse hair loss.

MYTH #5. Mobile phones contribute to the development of brain cancer. There is no scientific confirmation for this. But there is clear evidence that drivers who regularly talk while driving are more likely to be involved in accidents.

You can't catch cancer, but you can catch viruses that cause it

MYTH #6. Cancer can be inherited. Possible genetic predisposition. This applies to cancer of the large intestine (polyposis and non-polyposis), stomach, mammary and endocrine glands, etc.

• If you are predisposed to cancer, you should be systematically examined for its timely diagnosis.

MYTH #7. Cancer is contagious. Cancer cells are the rebirth of their own, so this statement is not true. However, it is true for those types of tumors that are associated with certain viruses, such as hepatitis C or papilloma. Since they are most often transmitted sexually, they increase the risk of liver and cervical cancer, respectively.

MYTH #8. Diet does not cause cancer. Heterocyclic amines — substances with carcinogenic properties — are formed as a result of cooking meat on an open fire, which can be a grill, barbecue or just a hot frying pan. If such dishes are often consumed, then this can further provoke the development of tumors. Read HERE.

about which foods will stop the development of cancer.

MYTH #9.There is no connection between obesity and cancer. American oncologists have proven that overweight is the result of every fifth death from malignant tumors. Excess fat can cause tumors in the kidneys, gallbladder, thyroid, and prostate. In addition, substances secreted by fat cells delay the already difficult process of recovery in such patients.

MYTH #10. The use of deodorants contributes to the development of breast cancer. Another misconception that has not been confirmed in the scientific world. However, it should be noted that scientists have great respect for simple soap and soul.
