Гастроэнтерит: cимптомы и лечение заболевания

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain? Alas, it may not always be a banal food poisoning – it is possible to face a more serious disorder.

Gastroenteritis – alas, it is a fairly common disease that can happen to anyone. Especially with those people who do not carefully follow the rules of personal hygiene (yes, those very dirty hands) or do not disdain the use of poor quality products. True, this is not the whole list of reasons that can provoke the disease.

What are the causes of gastroenteritis? What are the symptoms to understand that you are already sick? How to be treated? Read the article estet-portal.com!

Gastroenteritis — symptoms and treatment, including diet

Inflammatory disease of the mucous membrane of the stomach and small intestine (this is what gastroenteritis is) is most often provoked by the ingestion of food toxins, infections or viruses into the digestive tract. And sometimes the disease occurs against the background of allergies, due to infection with worms, viral or autoimmune diseases.

Causes of gastroenteritis:
- neglect of hygiene rules;
- eating spoiled or initially poor-quality products;
- worm infestation;
- some autoimmune processes;
- a number of viruses (rotaviruses, adenoviruses, etc.);
- an inflammatory process in the body due to acute allergies;
- side effects from taking certain medications;
- ingestion of toxic chemicals into the stomach;
- pathologies of the digestive system.

If gastroenteritis has a viral cause, then such a patient is contagious to others.

The symptoms of gastroenteritis are similar to any food poisoning, but if it is caused by viruses, the disease will be much more severe, so you should not hesitate to contact the doctors.
Symptoms of the disease:

- Nausea, possibly with vomiting.- Severe abdominal pain (usually in the form of cramps).
- Bloating (but without increased gas formation).
- Diarrhea (possibly with impurities of blood or mucus, if the disease occurs against the background of such acute infectious diseases as salmonellosis and dysentery).
- An increase in temperature to 37-38 degrees. may have a headache.
If not treated properly, the disease progresses from acute to chronic.

Even if you or your family have noticed only 2-3 symptoms from the list, you still need to seek medical help! After all, dehydration of the body and the risk of developing concomitant diseases can lead to sad consequences.

The doctor will make a primary diagnosis to start treatment according to the standard scheme based on the patient's complaints and general history. In parallel, the patient takes tests – blood, feces, possibly vomit.

Before contacting a doctor, it is recommended to limit food intake and drink more fluids, as diarrhea leads to dehydration of the body.

To retain fluid in the body, you can add salt to drinking water or use ready-made medicines such as Regidron or Oralit. These powders are purchased at a pharmacy, diluted in water according to the indicated dosage, and the resulting dehydration solution not only replenishes fluid, but also electrolyte reserves.

Sweet tea and jelly can also be consumed.

If even drinking liquid causes vomiting, then you should try to drink it in small portions (at least 50 ml at a time), but often.

If dehydration has reached a severe form and intoxication of the body is pronounced, the patient is placed under a dropper. Also, in the form of injections, vitamins of group B are administered, multivitamin complexes are given to support a weakened body.
The affected mucosa is restored with enveloping preparations (herbs – St. John's wort, tansy can be used as adjunctive therapy). The disturbed intestinal microflora is restored with eubiotics.

The decision to treat gastroenteritis with antibiotics can only be made by a doctor and only depending on the cause – pathogen! After all, if gastroenteritis is caused by viruses, then antibiotics will be powerless and even harmful.

Food for the sick – special topic. With gastroenteritis, diet number 4 is usually prescribed.
In the acute stage, the patient either does not eat at all, but only drinks, or can consume (if there is no vomiting) small portions of bananas, rice porridge (necessarily warm!), White crackers.

In the future, you can add to the diet:

- cereals without butter and milk;-boiled or stewed vegetables (except potatoes, carrots, cauliflower and other vegetables with coarse fiber); - low-fat fermented milk products;
- non-acidic fruits (baked apples, bananas);
- compotes;
- low-fat boiled meat and fish.

It is necessary to strictly exclude:

- fatty meat and fish;-smoked;- fast food;
- legumes;
- fatty dairy products;
- confectionery (especially with cream!) and muffins;
- coffee;
- soda;
- pickles;
- fried;
- spicy;
- canned food and semi-finished products.

Even after the acute symptoms have ceased, it is recommended to continue this diet for at least another month.

Somewhat similar to food for gastroenteritis and
diet for patients with gastritis
. In the future, for prevention, it is recommended to strictly monitor the observance of personal hygiene rules and the quality of products, as well as their thorough heat treatment.

Be healthy!
