When looking through the list of tasks that need to be completed in a day, we are often horrified by the lack of time to do everything - both to succeed in work and to establish a personal life. What to do? Researchers argue that the constant pressure of various factors on the human psyche leads to stress, which creates the illusion of lack of time.

To slow down the passage of time we perceive, we just need to take a deep breath and relax. This conclusion was made by Professor Jordan Etkin (Jordan Etkin) from Duke University in Northern California. Together with colleagues, she was looking for an answer to the question that makes us think that we cannot cope with all areas of life at the same time. And this is what the researchers came to the conclusion: duties that tear a person in half - between work and family - were the main reason for the imaginary lack of time.

As a solution to this problem, Professor Etkin suggested doing stress-relieving exercises. Half of the participants were asked to breathe in for 11 seconds, while the other half were asked to simply count to 11. Deep breaths were found to slow down time and reduce irritability. In addition, the subjects also uttered the phrase "I can!".

Professor Atkin also said that goal conflicts often depend on perception. In most cases, we should not feel such conflict at all. Therefore, next time, to relieve stress, just try to take a deep breath and exhale all doubts from yourself by saying the phrase "I can!".
