The art of mode selection: washing as little as possible – but as often as necessary

5-faktov-o-tom-kak-pravilno-myt-volosy-sovety-professionalaGorgeous shiny hair, elastic strong hair… Everyone knows these pictures from shampoo advertisements, looking at which, one can assume that it is quite easy to achieve beautiful hair. However, you often ask yourself: why, despite the high quality shampoos that I buy, my hair is still dull? The answer is pretty simple: you're just washing your hair the wrong way!

How often should you wash your hair - this question does not have a clear answer, because the structure of the hair is very individual for each person. In general, current trends are that you should not wash your hair daily, as this procedure stresses the hair & nbsp; and deprives the scalp of its natural protection in the form of a fatty film. However, not everyone can afford to go out with unwashed hair in the morning, especially if the hair is thin and quickly becomes greasy.

So the principle of washing your hair is as little as possible, but as often as necessary!

Most often there is a problem with very thin hair: if washed too often, natural fats are removed from the hair and scalp, which are responsible for elasticity; if washed rarely - they just look greasy. Try occasionally using a volumizing conditioner instead of shampoo. In addition, most rinses also contain mild surfactants that rid your hair of greasy residue without the need to load it with active shampoos. Such tricks will help keep your hair quite lush and healthy even with daily washing.

This special way of washing your hair -  using conditioners - is becoming more and more popular, by the way. The most important thing you should know if you want to try it in the long run: all of these products contain silicones, which make the hair look great, but tend to accumulate and can only be removed later with aggressive shampoos.

The amount of shampoo used does not determine the quality of the hair wash

What is the right way to wash your hair in terms of the amount of shampoo? The more foam the better? Not! As a general rule, you need a coin-sized amount of shampoo to wash your hair. Also, aggressive rubbing, kneading, and rinsing may be nice for your scalp, but not exactly good for your hair.

Here's how to do it right:

  • take a small amount of shampoo,
  • Massage it gently into the hair - from the tips up to the neck,
  • leave the shampoo on your hair for a minute,
  • Rinse your hair well with shampoo.

By the way, if you use a sulfate-free shampoo, it doesn't lather at all! Foam does not dissolve grease, and dirt particles from your hair are removed by surfactants, which, in fact, clean your hair. Foam is obtained only with the help of additives such as sulfates or silicones, and its role – make the detergent pleasant to use.

Attention! The water temperature must not be too high!

A hot shower can be very enjoyable for many, but the high temperature of the water will definitely have a negative effect on your hair. Whoever washes their hair with too hot water not only dries out the scalp, leaving it without natural lubrication, but also leaves the hair roots completely dry, which threatens to fall out. So next time turn down the water temperature before taking a shower and wash your hair with warm water.

Besides, a slight reset of the water temperature is not only good for your health. Your hair will also benefit from refreshing with cool water at the end of the wash: this closes the hair roots and provides a healthy shine.

Variability – half success! Change your skin care products often

Professional hairdressers advise, for example, to change shampoo every few months to provide the hair with various nutrients. In addition, the needs of your hair are different throughout the year: in winter, hair needs more serious care with nutrition, which can be obtained by applying products with various oils - & nbsp; such as coconut, olive or argan, as well as shea butter. In summer, hair needs moisturizing lightness.

If you live in areas with very hard, chalky water, wash your hair at least once a month with a special intensive cleansing shampoo to free it from stubborn dirt and restore shine.

Proper drying of hair after washing – pledge of their strength and health

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER rub your hair dry after washing! One of the biggest mistakes after washing hair, which, unfortunately, is made too often: wet hair is wiped dry with a rough, hard towel, applying a lot of strength and energy to this.

But did you know that by doing this you are roughening the surface of your hair. Wet hair is very fragile and vulnerable, it easily splits and breaks. The scales on your hair from hard rubbing do not smooth out, but fluff up, and you deprive your hair of shine.

Here's how to do it right: after washing, gently pat your hair dry with a soft towel and then wrap it around your head with a turban, wait ten minutes – and you're done!
