Overweight, puffiness, varicose veins - estrogen dominance is to blame

A whole range of symptoms that are a real nightmare for many women can be caused by estrogen dominance. Hormonal imbalance, manifested in a lack of progesterone and a predominance of estrogen, leads to the appearance of benign tumors in the breast, breast cancer and precancerous conditions. However, the appearance of less dangerous, but no more pleasant symptoms may be associated with the dominance of estrogen: weight gain, swelling, menstrual irregularities, varicose veins, etc. What causes estrogen levels to rise to critical levels and is it possible to restore hormonal balance?

Estrogen dominance – symptoms and causes of hormonal imbalance

Symptoms resulting from estrogen dominance are probably familiar to every woman as they are:

  • weight gain;
  • swelling;
  • varicose veins;
  • mood swings and depression;
  • breast sensitivity;
  • irregular menses;
  • dryness or itching in the vagina;
  • insomnia, fatigue, night sweats;
  • infertility;
  • precancerous conditions, benign and malignant tumors of the breast.

Why does estrogen dominance occur?

As a rule, the liver perceives estrogen as a poison, so it immediately begins to remove this hormone from the body. If the liver weakens or for some other reason too much estrogen accumulates in the body, the level of this hormone rises.

  1. Depleted liver can't handle estrogen excretion

The liver needs a lot of protein, vitamins and minerals to function properly – only under such conditions can it remove unnecessary hormones, including estrogen. Lack of protein is one of the main causes of impaired ability of the liver to excrete estrogen.

  1. Hormone disruption

This causes a decrease in progesterone levels, as a result of which its natural balance with estrogen is disturbed. To produce progesterone, the body needs cholesterol, vitamin A, and the thyroid hormone triiodothyronine (T3). With a lack of one of these components, which may occur as a result of malnutrition or a decrease in thyroid function, progesterone is not produced enough.

  1. Chronic stress

Under stress, as you know, cortisol "takes over" the reins of control of the body, and the production of progesterone decreases for this time. If the body faces stress regularly, one of the unpleasant side effects of this phenomenon is an imbalance of estrogen and progesterone.

  1. Oral contraceptives, estrogen replacement therapy

When entering the body from the outside, synthetic estrogen increases the load on the body. The risks associated with taking synthetic estrogen have been known since the 1940s – blood clots, varicose veins, miscarriages, PMS.

  1. Aging
An age-related feature is a decrease in the level of pregnenolone and progesterone in the body.

What are some ways to counter estrogen dominance?

Comprehensive nutrition plan that supports metabolism, liver, hormones, and stress regulation – the main approach to solving the problem of estrogen dominance.

  1. Metabolic maintenance
  • it's time to stop counting calories and eating low fat foods; you need to eat more natural and unprocessed foods, take care of sufficient intake of proteins and carbohydrates to meet the metabolic needs of the body;
  • you need to get your sugar levels under control;
  • It is very important to listen to your body and notice how it reacts to a particular meal plan.
  1. Nutrition for the liver
  • take care of a sufficient amount of proteins (there are a lot of daily allowance calculators on the Internet that calculate the required amount based on a person’s weight): eggs, dairy products, seafood, meat; from proteins, the body receives amino acids, which it uses for further synthesis of the protein it needs;
  • Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables.

  1. Normalization of hormone production
  • vitamin A (especially from animal liver), vitamin E, copper and sun walks – all this the body needs every day;
  • eat carrots (one carrot a day helps maintain hormonal balance);
  • Make an appointment with your doctor to find out if any disease is affecting your hormone production.
  1. Fight stress and toxins
  • try to avoid stressful situations as much as possible – take care of healthy sleep, eat right, learn meditation techniques, be physically active;
  • Use the most natural products for personal care and cleaning in the house;
  • engage in cleansing of the body;
  • avoid xenoestrogens (found in plastic utensils and pesticide-treated foods).

In most cases, according to estet-portal.com, we can maintain the balance of hormones in natural ways. Despite the safety and simplicity of the above methods of dealing with estrogen dominance, if symptoms of this problem appear, you should consult a doctor who will determine the true cause of the violation.

    На счёт варикоза то не согласна. Как раз во время беременности преобладает гормон прогестерон, нехватка которого вызывает выкидышь. И именно во время беременности как раз и проявляется варикозная сетка или усугубляется !!!
