Autoimmune diseases are the third most common disease, behind only cancer and coronary heart disease. Diagnosis of autoimmune diseases is difficult due to the "strange" symptoms. By knowing the symptoms of autoimmune diseases, you will be able to start treatment in a timely manner and avoid inappropriate diagnostic procedures.

Autoimmune diseases: symptoms that indicate the presence of an ailment

  1. Sleep disorders. It is often difficult for you to fall asleep, and cases when you wake up for no reason in the middle of the night have become regular.
  2. Excessive fatigue that cannot be relieved even with proper rest.
  3. Weakness in the muscles, combined with loss of strength in the upper and lower limbs.
  4. Pain in muscles and joints. Pain sensations can be very diverse – general, burning, slight monotonous, etc.
  5. Swelling of the tonsils and/or lymph nodes. Such a symptom of autoimmune diseases can occur in different parts of the body, but most often an increase in lymph nodes is noted in the nasopharynx, groin and armpits.
  6. Weight gain (or loss), on average 5-7 kilograms.
  7. Inflammation. A sign of inflammation is pain, especially – chronic.
  8. Persistent colds, bladder infections, sinusitis, sinusitis, fungi. In the presence of autoimmune damage, the recovery period is quite long.
  9. Low blood sugar – sign of adrenal exhaustion.

  13. Food/household allergies, sensitivity to chemical agents and odors are inherent in people with autoimmune diseases.
  14. Depression and anxiety. In autoimmune diseases, changes in mood and emotions can occur, the person becomes irritable and suffers from panic attacks.
  15. Reduced and increased thyroid function. Not all generally accepted laboratory methods are able to detect thyroid disorders. Thus, this disorder often manifests itself in the form of hair loss, excess weight and low body temperature.
  16. Problems with memory and intelligence. This condition is called "clouded consciousness".

  21. PMS. During this period, the symptoms of autoimmune diseases become more pronounced. For example, worsening bloating, painful abdominal cramps, excessive bleeding and irregular cycles can be an alarm signal.

For some people, the symptoms described above do not translate into a diagnosis of a specific autoimmune disease, but they will inevitably worsen the quality of life. You should always pay attention to the alarming symptoms, because this will help stop the progression of the disease.
