Redness of the eyes – by no means a rare symptom that often worries people of different ages – from children to the elderly. A big mistake is to get rid of the redness of the eyes itself with the help of drops bought at a pharmacy without finding out the reasons for the appearance of such redness.   • change in color perception;
  • dry and burning eyes;
  • double vision;
  • inability to quickly change focus;
  • strabismus;
  • general decrease in visual acuity.

Treatment of redness of the eyes – on your own or with a doctor?

Like any problem, redness of the eyes must be eliminated by finding out the root cause of its occurrence. Some reasons you can handle on your own. This applies to the above-described computer vision syndrome. To treat redness of the eyes and prevent it, it is enough to take care of protecting your eyesight while working at the computer:

  1. The shorter and more frequent breaks you take while working at the monitor, the better for your eyesight.
  2. Do not hold the monitor less than 50 centimeters from your eyes.
  3. The higher the screen resolution in pixels – the less the load on the organs of vision.
  4. Pay attention to the speed of flicker – not lower than 70 Hz.
  5. The brightness of the lighting in the room where the monitor is installed should not be much higher than the brightness of the latter.
  6. Light should not bounce off the monitor screen.
  7. Take a break every hour for a massage and eye exercises.
