When people want to lose weight, they go on a diet and start actively exercising. However, according to recent research by Hans Seivelberg, people who have not had minimal physical activity for a long time are more useful to spend the day "on their feet" than trying to make up for lost time in the gym.
A study by Dr. Hans Savelberg of Maastricht University in the Netherlands found that walking and walking are more effective than intense exercise at the gym. It turns out that people who have not had minimal physical activity for a long time are more useful to spend the day "on their feet" than trying to make up for lost time in the gym.
During the study, 18 boys and girls aged 18-24 were divided into 3 groups: the first group spent 14 hours a day in a sitting position without physical exertion, the participants in the second group were in a sitting position for 13 hours, after which they intensively worked out with a trainer in for an hour, and the third group spent 6 hours in a sitting position, after which its participants walked for 4 hours and spent another 2 in an upright position.
The results showed that cholesterol and lipid levels improved significantly in group 3 participants, reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke.
Dr. Seivelberg believes that one hour of physical activity cannot compensate for the negative effects of being immobile if you continue to spend most of the day in a sitting position. In his opinion, the most effective way to improve your health – spend at least a few hours a day walking.
Why not spend the first day of the year taking a stroll outside in the park?
