Бьютификация и антиэйджинг: особенности работы с пациентами разных возрастных категорий

The first signs of aging become noticeable around the age of 30, but they begin to really bother patients around the age of 40. Dr. Christoph Marchin came to this conclusion – chief dermatologist of the Akademkliniken clinic (Stockholm, Sweden), medical consultant of Galderma, international trainer in injection techniques. In an exclusive interview for estet-portal.com, Dr. Marchin spoke about the features and sequence of beautification and correction of age-related changes depending on the age of patients, favorite Restylane injectable products, as well as about the different expectations and role of a personalized approach to facial correction in patients of different generations.

Byutification of different generations largely depends on the perception of beauty. For example, my grandmother's ideas about beauty are more conservative than those of my mother, whose youth fell on the 70s, and my sister – typical millennial.

Comparing their concepts of beauty, it is easy to understand that beauty – purely individual concept. That is why

Restylane fillers were created to correct in the most personalized way, not a standardized approach.

Beyond this, there is also the anatomy of beauty: the various proportions and angles that we are so eager to measure and recreate, and how they change over time.

By combining these features, we get

true individual beauty. Is it correct to talk about the beautification of patients 40+, or only anti-aging procedures are performed at this age

The first signs of aging become noticeable around the age of 30, but they become a cause for concern towards the age of 40. The fact is also that during this period, many patients whose children have grown up have more free time and wish to devote it to self-care.

Facebook! My patients are most often interested in injection procedures after 40 years.

As it is now known, it is after 40 years that the processes of aging of bone tissue accelerate. Therefore, when working with patients of this age category, it is advisable to talk about rejuvenation, restoration – after all, we turn back time a bit, replenishing the lost volumes and pulling up

structures that have been shifted down. When working with patients 40+, the first thing to do is to restore the volume or quality of the skin

I always recommend restoring the volume first and then moving on to work on the quality of the skin. As a rule, procedures aimed at improving the quality of the skin (chemical peels, lasers, skin boosters, etc.) take time to show the maximum result.

Thus, the first stage is injections of fillers to correct the shape of the face. And in order to complement the effect obtained, work is being carried out in parallel with the quality of the skin.

I find this

approach to be very effective. Which product do you prefer or use most often in your practice

Since 1998 we have been successfully working with all Galderma – toxins, fillers, skin boosters (official distributor – company

INNOVAAESTHETIC). I always tell my junior colleagues that the source of true innovation – not necessarily a new product. A better understanding of how to use the drugs we already have at our disposal can lead to innovation.

On top of that, I'm convinced that we still haven't unlocked the full potential of facial fillers. By improving our understanding of the changes that come with the face, we increase our ability to

use existing products more effectively. Do patients' expectations vary with age

Vary, and very much. Patients 50+ are more self-confident, successful, grateful to their families and friends. What they don't like are facial features that accentuate the negative – wrinkles of anger, wrinkles around the mouth, loss of volume and thinning of the lips. It is these imperfections that make them come to my clinic. However, very few of them expect to look young forever.

I turn down a patient when I feel that their expectations are unrealistic or the procedure will not be beneficial.

Young patients others – they have a lot of events going on in their lives, they are looking for themselves in this world, they ask themselves the questions “Who am I?”, “How do I look?” etc. Here the influence of the environment is traced. Nowadays, it is, of course, social networks and the concept of beauty that they broadcast.

Of course, we doctors filter beauty ideals and determine what will benefit the patient, what results can be achieved and how to help patients embrace individual beauty instead of turning them into another typical Instagram account.
