Dostoevsky believed that "beauty will save the world." The modern beauty industry confirms this: today it is a huge market for services and products that are aimed at improving the appearance of a person. One of the most powerful "whales" beauty industry in Ukraine is a holding of companies headed by director Ksenia Lapina.

This holding is familiar to market professionals from the Top-cosmetics company. Maintaining and developing existing trends in the beauty market – this is far from the only thing that the holding companies are engaged in.

Especially for estet-portal.com readers, Ksenia Lapina spoke about her vision of the beauty industry, as well as about a completely new direction that her holding plans to introduce – beauty tourism.

ED. Xenia, tell our readers what the term "beautification" means to you?

K.L. Beautification in my understanding – this is both a correction of a woman's appearance, and a change in her style as a whole, taking into account her life tasks, goals, priorities, her vision of the future. If a woman wants to make a career, she needs to place some accents in her appearance, and if she gets married – other. Because in the classical sense, a change in style is basically a change in the style of clothing, hair color, without taking into account many of the nuances that beautification can give.

I would like the term "beautification" to be was understood in a complex way: that until the moment of changing the appearance of a woman with the help of minimally invasive procedures, her psychotype, life goals, tasks and priorities should be taken into account.

EDIT  How important, in your opinion, is the issue of appearance in the modern world?

KL I probably wouldn't be in this industry if I didn't believe it was very important. World statistics say that beautiful people earn more. And my personal practical experience confirms this. When a woman looks good, her level of self-confidence rises. Accordingly, for example, negotiations are underway at a different level, and a woman more confidently carries a message to business partners.

EDIT  We know that one of the innovative ideas of the TOP Cosmetics holding is the introduction of beauty tourism in Ukraine. Tell us more about it

K.L. The mission of our holding: "The world will learn about Ukraine through beauty". I would really like the world to see us through beauty, because Europeans see Ukrainian women as very beautiful. I travel a lot, and I am convinced that Ukrainian women are really the most beautiful. We have it innately, genetically, and, accordingly, we are thus positioned in the European market. Today we have not very expensive minimally invasive procedures, excellent professionals work for us. I have been in this industry for 10 years, and I think that Ukrainian specialists do a great job.

Our task is to convey to Europeans the following message: “Our women are the most beautiful, and not least thanks to the professionalism of the beauty industry.

KL I am convinced that we can create a beauty tourism that will help make a breakthrough in all areas of the beauty industry. Given that today the growth of the beauty market in Ukraine is slower than it was before, we can help it grow by teaming up with the main players. If we bring European women here for beautification, the sales of each individual company will be higher, and the income of our specialists too.

ED. But the beauty market players are predominantly prone to individual work. Do you believe that a single initiative can unite everyone?

KL I am convinced of that. The fact is that the cluster system exists in many markets. For example, the classic – a street of boutiques on the Champs Elysees, and they are successful precisely because they are nearby. On the one hand, they – the most powerful competitors. On the other hand, it is by uniting that they attract a huge number of tourists from all over the world for shopping in one place. I am convinced that water wears away a stone, and, step by step, meeting with all the players in the beauty market, voicing the benefits to them, we will get off the ground.

EDIT  How do you see beauty tourism in Ukraine as an ideal option?

K.L. I believe that the main players in this market could allocate their budgets not to compete with each other, but to promote beauty tourism in countries Europe. That is, it is necessary to unite in a beauty cluster in the literal sense of the word, to make joint decisions at meetings and meetings. For example, this year we are focusing on Polish women and are advertising a beauty cluster of all beauty specialists targeted to Poland to see what the return will be.

EDIT  What prospects, in your opinion, does the beauty industry have in Ukraine? What is the beauty market lacking in the first place?

K.L. If we really succeed in forming a beauty cluster and organizing beauty tourism in Ukraine, then our specialists will undergo additional training on working with women of other countries races, with a different type of skin. This will definitely need to be taken into account, and training will definitely need to be carried out.

Accordingly, along with the skill of our specialists, the training market will also grow, which will definitely provoke a rise and revival in all beauty industries. We need to think strategically, look to the future, realizing that we can also play a significant role in shaping a positive image of Ukraine as a whole.

    Женщинам действительно почему-то всегда сложнее в бизнесе, чем мужчинам. Но так было раньше. Мне кажется, сейчас такую дискриминацию уже редко встретишь. Поэтому чтобы занимать высокий пост немаловажно иметь безупречный внешний вид, стиль и имидж. Важно его поддерживать в коллективе, будь он женским или мужским. В этом доминирующую роль конечно же играет развитие бьюти-индустрии.
