Modern technologies provide humanity with a huge arsenal of effective methods for preserving youth. Of course, most patients want these procedures not only to give a cosmetic effect, but also to have a beneficial effect on the skin itself. Plasmogel and plasma masks are used not only to eliminate wrinkles, but also for skin lesions, burns and cicatricial deformities. Dermatovenereologist of the highest category, member of the European Association of Dermatologists, honorary member of the Association of Injectionists Irina Kapshuchenko spoke especially for estet-portal.com readers about the use of autogenous plasma preparations, such as plasma masks and plasma gel, which provide both rejuvenation and tissue repair.

Tell us what plasma masks and plasma gel are?

Plasma masks and plasma gel are autologous plasma. We get this product from special test tubes — Kit manufactured by RegenLab. Plasmogel is a fibrin that is not activated by calcium or heparin and is mixed with autologous plasma.

What are the advantages of Plasmogel over classical autologous plasma?

Fibrin contains platelets, which are activated slowly, which leads to a prolonged effect.

Classic autologous plasma is activated within a day, providing a quick result, but, unlike plasma gel, not so long.

In cases where complications are being treated, and a longer anti-inflammatory, regenerative or angioprotective effect is needed, plasma gel is applied to the affected tissues. This drug has a dense consistency, so it must be applied or injected into the tissues within 7-10 minutes so that it does not turn into a fibrin clot or fibrin filler.

How does rehabilitation work with plasma gel or plasma mask?

The implementation of the rehabilitation algorithm will depend on the type of complications received.

With the consequences of using hardware techniques, such as laser hair removal, removal of blood vessels, photothermolysis, when tissue damage occurs, a plasma mask is applied or a plasma gel is injected on the first or second day, that is, in the early rehabilitation period, directly into the affected area.

In the long-term period, which begins after the third day, a plasma mask is not applied to the affected area and no gel is injected to avoid infection. At this time, work is carried out with the surrounding tissues to restore their microcirculation.

What are the principles for the prevention and treatment of complications with plasma products?

Prophylaxis of complications is carried out in those patients in whom they can be expected. For example, if a person already had complications after the removal of blood vessels, burns, blood vessels reappeared.

Prophylaxis of burns is indicated for patients of the fourth phototype after epilation and other photo-procedures.

In this case, immediately after the procedure, to prevent burns and scarring, a plasma mask or gel is applied, or intradermal injections are performed around the treated vessel or area.

If the patient already has complications, such as a blister burn, the rehabilitation process must begin immediately. Immediately after the procedure, we centrifuge and  we apply autologous plasma to the tissue surface, if there is no gel at hand, and leave it for a couple of hours. In this case, it is necessary to constantly additionally apply the autologous product to the affected area.
