The beauty of the face depends on many different factors that affect the state of all its layers. The epidermis, dermis and hypodermis, as well as the state of the musculoaponeurotic system and the skull, equally determine the young and attractive appearance of a person. Modern aesthetic medicine pays a lot of attention to the condition of fat deposits on the face, their age-related changes and effective correction methods.
It was these topical issues that the maxillofacial surgeon of the highest category, the National expert in aesthetic medicine, the chief physician of the Nucu Cosmetic Center for Aesthetic and Hardware Cosmetology, spoke about in an exclusive interview for estet-portal.com. Magdalina Mikhailovna Al-Nagash.
Are there any differences in the location of fat pads on the face in men and women?
Hypodermis plays a very important role in creating the contours and oval of the face, both in women and men. It is the hypodermis that forms gender differences on the face, because the fat packages in men and women in the middle third of the face are located differently, which allows us to distinguish a man from a woman with a quick eye, despite the fact that long hair is a familiar attribute of a woman, and beard or stubble – attribute of a man. There are certain anatomical features that give us gender differences. Men have more pronounced chewing muscles, wider bones, a massive chin and angle of the lower jaw.
A woman has smooth corners, the bones of her face are thinner, rounder, and the subcutaneous fat packs of the face are located a little differently than in men, especially in the middle third of the face - there they are more voluminous and located higher.
But the aging of the hypodermis just equalizes gender characteristics, because this tissue ages equally in both men and women.
Tell us what happens to the fat pads on the face during the aging process?
There are two theories of aging:
- gravity and
- volumetric.
From the point of view of these two theories, both men and women age in the same way, and this is manifested by a flattening and decrease in the volume of the middle third of the face, as well as redistribution of subcutaneous fat packages and their increase in the lower third. Such changes are caused not only by the influence of gravity, when the ligaments are stretched, and the face drops forward and downward.
The volumetric theory just shows the redistribution of fat packages, hypertrophy of the volumes of the nasolabial fold, submandibular, medial and lateral fat packages, which leads to the formation of the so-called "bulldog cheeks" or "flies". Naturally, all these deformation elements cause the appearance of a tired, dissatisfied and middle-aged face. Many patients are additionally concerned about the problem in the middle third of the face - this is the problem of visualization over time of malar or zygomatic bags, which are located in the bucco-zygomatic zone, in the infraorbital space.
At what age does this problem most often occur?
There are patients in whom, due to the zygomatic ligament, this problem is expressed from childhood, and they apply at a fairly young age. But, most often, this is a problem of involutional changes in soft tissues. Just when gravitational ptosis and redistribution of fat occurs, the ligaments in this zone do not move much, and a structure is highlighted that gives a serious cosmetic defect. Naturally, a person is not satisfied because he looks tired or even "drunk", although, in fact, this may not be the case.
What modern methods can help to eliminate such a problem of fat deposits on the face?
It is impossible to cure such a problem in one session. It is possible to get an effect in one or two procedures only if the patient has an early degree of ptosis. Then the lost fat package can be corrected by the volume of fillers, and the fat in the paint bag can be reduced by using the effective drug MESOSCULPT™ C71 (mesoscalpt). But, most often, the plan for correcting such a defect is very long-term, and it must be selected individually. I deliberately do not give a scheme for using the MesoScalpt, because, working clearly according to the scheme, without an individual approach, a specialist can get an ugly result.
A doctor who wants to learn how to work with this problem needs to come to a special training master class where various & nbsp; types, cases, and correction algorithms. So correct, professional, and so calm.
What is fundamentally new in recent approaches to the correction of age-related changes in fat deposits on the face?
I think that MesoScalpt – this is one of the latest achievements of aesthetic medicine. Thanks to the use of this drug, you can get a quick and effective result. But, again, you need to choose the right patient. Do not think that if a person comes with an increased body mass index, and he has large volumes, then one MesoScalpt procedure will help us. Here it is necessary to connect the internal factor, establish nutrition, conduct a detox program, and in parallel do external procedures, and only then will the result be.
With the help of MesoScalpt on the face, it is very convenient to correct and reduce the volume of hypertrophied adipose tissue - this is the nasolabial fold, cheeks, chin area.
I really like this innovative drug, because it helps to get an excellent, lasting result without pain and long-term rehabilitation.
