Aging of the body – an inevitable process, and it is accompanied by a number of physiological changes in all organs and systems that affect the condition of the skin. Especially rapidly, the external signs of skin aging appear in women with the onset of the menopausal period, giving out the true age of the patients. They are most visible in the neck and décolleté area, the contour of the face suffers, and the backs of the hands treacherously give out age. For each of the vulnerable areas, cosmetologists have methods and means of correction, read about some of them on estet-portal.com.
Contour deformations – clear signs of facial skin aging
One of the manifestations of age-related changes that have begun is gravitational ptosis. Its manifestation is facilitated by atrophic processes in the bone tissue of the facial part of the skull. Increase the severity of ptosis can:
- incomplete dentition,
- features of articulation and facial expressions.
Gravity ptosis is most strongly manifested by a violation of the clarity of the contour of the lower jaw. Usually, patients come to the cosmetologist with complaints about the age-related changes that have appeared, pointing precisely to the consequences of ptosis – sagging of soft tissues and visualization of jowls. These defects are especially noticeable in women who have lost a lot of weight or, on the contrary, like to eat well.
The initial manifestations of gravitational ptosis, which violate the clarity of the contour of the lower jaw, are as follows:
- neck is optically shortened,
- the size of the lower jaw is slightly reduced,
- the angle between the neck and chin is smoothed out, approaching a blunt one.
The subcutaneous muscle of the platysma neck is also involved in the deformation of the contour.
Age-related changes in the bone tissue of the cervical vertebrae lead to an increase in its tone in the middle part. Because of this, flabbiness of the skin develops along the contour of the lower jaw, a "second chin" is formed, and the jowls become very pronounced.
Most often, such changes are characteristic of patients with gravitational and fatigue types of aging.
Correction of signs of skin aging in this area is possible by various methods. There are quite a lot of them, the doctor can choose the best one based on the characteristics of the manifestation of age-related changes in a particular patient. The placement of cosmetic threads, contouring with fillers, and the use of botulinum toxin injections are effective. Good results are shown by mesotherapeutic procedures, hardware techniques that improve skin elasticity.
Signs of skin aging on the front of the neck
The condition of the skin on the anterior surface of the neck – this is one of the most striking signs of age. When caring for the skin, women usually do not pay enough attention to this area. At the same time, the neck suffers more from solar ultraviolet radiation and other adverse external factors than other areas. It quickly loses turgor, becomes dry and less elastic. Dyschromia, keratomas, papillomas appear early on the neck.
In order to choose the right method for correcting the anterior surface of the neck, we take into account the types of aging:
- finely wrinkled – typical for patients with a long or medium neck, the skin is dry, thinned and mobile, subcutaneous fat is poorly expressed, bands of platysma are visible; mainly represented by compensatory wrinkles;
- deformation – typical for overweight patients, owners of a short neck, the skin is dense and thick, the "second chin" is clearly expressed, the subcutaneous fat is hypertrophied; circular wrinkles are clearly expressed.
Anatomically, the neck area is exceptionally difficult and requires impeccable knowledge and good qualifications from the beautician. The danger is the proximity of large arteries and lymphatic vessels, the thyroid gland.
Chemical peels of various depths are used to correct age-related changes in the anterior surface of the neck. Good results in improving the condition of the skin can be achieved with mesotherapy. Radio wave therapy and other hardware techniques are effective.
Delicate correction area – decollete: how to deal with the signs of skin aging
The skin of the decollete has its own characteristics: it is in many ways similar to the periorbital zone – unexpressed sebaceous glands, reduced thickness. Insufficient cosmetic care for the décolleté area, combined with constant exposure to sunlight, leads to the fact that the skin quickly dries out and becomes thinner, suffers from hyperpigmentation, becomes covered with a network of small and rather large wrinkles.
Deformations of the skin in the décolleté area are facilitated by improperly selected bras, prolonged breastfeeding, increased insolation on the beach or in a solarium. Breast size also affects the rate of wrinkle formation by stretching the skin.
In asthenics and normosthenics with a small breast size, the décolleté area usually ages in a finely wrinkled type. Hypersthenics with voluminous breasts are characterized by deformational aging with deep wrinkles, flabby and bumpy skin.
Botulinum therapy gives a good effect in correcting the signs of aging of the décolleté skin, which allows you to reduce muscle tone and smooth out wrinkles. An excellent aesthetic result can be achieved with thread lifting. Of the hardware procedures, we can recommend microcurrent therapy and photorejuvenation.
