Aging of the body – it is an inevitable physiological process that at some point starts in the body of every person, and affects all its organs and structures. That is why, a very urgent problem in the practice of dermatocosmetologists and trichologists today is premature aging of hair, which also takes place. With this problem, patients often seek help from specialists in aesthetic medicine, with the goal of not only timely therapy, but also the prevention of premature hair aging.

What methods are used today for these purposes – dermatovenereologist, cosmetologist, developer of recommendations for the use of the Plasmolifting technique in the treatment of age-related changes in the skin of the body, methodological consultant on the Plasmolifting technology Olga Korotkova.

What is hair aging and how does it happen

Hair aging – this is a normal, physiological, genetically determined process that develops in almost every one of our patients. Most often, patients come to us with complaints of hair graying, that is, a change in their color due to a lack of melanocytes, and thinning is the same hair loss that they crave to be treated in the office of a trichologist and dermatocosmetologist.

Most often, hair aging is caused by external influences, that is, it can be photoaging, excessive ultraviolet radiation, and, of course, problems of an internal nature.

These are nutritional deficiencies, various deficiencies, taking hormonal drugs, systemic diseases that can cause such problems, and, of course, hormonal disorders. But, often, we see manifestations of hair aging just in androgenetic hair loss, that is, in diffuse hair loss in women and men.

What are the main methods of preventing premature hair aging

Prevention of hair aging implies  some combination of methods. Of course, this is a nutritional correction. We must always check the level of vitamin D, and this is a classic biochemical blood test that each of our patients should take, and then correct it to the norm, as well as zinc and copper deficiency, and various anemias with iron deficiency. These various nutrient deficiencies can give us a picture of premature hair aging.

Further prophylaxis is injection techniques such as mesotherapy, placental therapy, autologous plasma therapy, as well as banal care procedures with repeated, for example, peelings and physiotherapy once every few months.

Tell us about the use of autologous plasma for the prevention and correction of premature hair aging?

Autologous plasma is a kind of bomb for patients with trichological problems, because in one syringe, in one preparation, we immediately receive the full range of substances we need.  For a very long time, autologous plasma was considered as a kind of official drug, like aspirin or paracetamol, which you buy in a pharmacy and then work with it. For dermatocosmetologists, this is the classic approach when you go to the locker, take a syringe and work with it, and it is very important to follow the dosage and depth of injection.

But autologous plasma – after all, it is an organ of the human body, and manipulation with it is a variant of autotransplantation, so each time, depending on the problem of our patient, we will work at different depths and with different frequencies. What is the advantage  - this is an improvement in microcirculation, metabolism and oxygen metabolism, a decrease in the inflammatory response, an increase in local immunity, and an excellent stimulation of fibroblasts and hair follicles for division and growth of new hair.

Why platelets play an important role in the action of autologous plasma

Platelets – it is a cornerstone in the application of autologous plasma. PRP therapy came to us from dentistry, and then the issue of plasma platelet concentration was discussed for a very long time. Why is this so important?

When a platelet loses contact with the intima (the inner lining of the vessel), it becomes activated and loses a large number of substances, of which alpha granules are important to us.

They contain a protein molecule of growth factors, and just growth factors – these are the protein substances that are responsible for enhancing cell division, improving the synthesis of the intercellular dermis, microcirculation and metabolism, they also enhance the synthesis of fibroblasts, thereby affecting collagen and elastin. And all this kind of "mess" autologous plasma has been around for a very long time only because of growth factors, and that is why the greatest attention has always been paid to platelets.

We believe that this is a little wrong, because, since the plasma – this is an organ, in no case should we forget that it is water, hormones, macro- and microelements, & nbsp; amino acids and some other protein molecules, such as beta-lysines, as well as the fact that there is a cytokine link in regeneration. That is, all processes are multistructural, and we consider plasma as a large conglomerate, without isolating only platelets separately. But, most often, the question for platelets – this is a question for growth factors, which are responsible for the regenerative potential.
