The success secrets of Dr. Mauricio de Mayo's facial contouring

To achieve the maximum result, great attention should be paid to the initial consultation and examination of the condition of the patient's face. Mandatory stages of the initial consultation before contour modeling of the face:

Step 1 – assessment of the patient's appearance. During the examination, it is necessary to prioritize the patient's appearance. Social and economic aspects will be important, which should ensure a comfortable state.

There are special questions that the doctor must answer for himself:

1. What is the shape of this patient's face?
2. What is the problem for the patient?
3. Quantification of the problem. It is necessary to rank depending on the depth of impact.
4. Assess the proportions of the upper, middle and lower thirds of the face. It must be remembered that the beauty of the face in the correct proportions between all its parts and maintaining balance will emphasize the aesthetic result.
5. Symmetry. All faces are asymmetric to a greater or lesser extent. It is necessary to determine whether this asymmetry is acceptable or whether maximum efforts should be directed to its correction. If it is unacceptable, then an assessment of our ability to change it will be extremely important.
6. We study the details of the face. The ratio of the volume of the nose, lips, cheekbones, eyebrows. To do this, examination and assessment of the state of the muscular frame of the face must be carried out in several projections. First projection – this is a frontal examination, the second – study of the face in profile, the third – frontally with a tilt of the head (maximally lowered chin), the fourth – frontally with chin up.
7. It is during such an examination that we will correctly answer the question of what exactly should be changed in the patient's appearance. This will either fill in the wrinkles that we see in the frontal view, or fill in the missing volume that aggravates the appearance in profile.

Stage 2 – assessment of technical skills and capabilities. After the examination, it is necessary to assess how realistic it is to correct certain aesthetic defects with contour plastic preparations. For example, if the patient is a 70-year-old woman who asks to change the condition of her face with one syringe of Juvederm, then we understand that this is an overestimated expectation and it is technically impossible to fulfill it.

Stage 3 – sociability. It is necessary to explain to the patient your vision of his problems and come to a common conclusion. Often patients see the solution to their problems by mistake. If you follow their vision, the doctor will not get a positive result and his reputation will be affected accordingly.
