Lower facial tissues – this is one of the most characteristic and pronounced age-related changes, which manifests itself with age on the face of each person. Tissue ptosis greatly distorts the face, but the methods of modern aesthetic medicine help to solve this problem. Today on estet-portal.com read an interview with a leading plastic surgeon, Ph.D.

Pavel Andreevich, tell our readers what is vector lifting?

In general, the very concept of – this is some kind of direction that enables a person to understand where he is going in life or in general in the world. For plastic surgeons and aesthetic specialists, this is, first of all, the problem of age-related changes in the face. Vectors affect age in that tissues tend to droop.

The vector tends to drop soft tissues perpendicularly downwards, and the larger the volume of these soft tissues, the more the vectors actually pull them down.

Vectors show themselves very strongly when a person's weight fluctuates a lot, that is, he gains weight, and then abruptly begins to lose weight, because he does not like it. Even if a person then recovers, the vectors no longer rise up, no matter how much he wants to. And the tissues remain at that lower point, unfortunately, with an even greater visible problematic effect. Therefore, vector lifting suggests that we must return these tissues to their place.

What are the maximum results that can be achieved with vector lifting?

The maximum result of vector lifting can be achieved, of course, during plastic surgery, because there we have the opportunity to very well and measuredly restore the lowered tissues in two layers, two planes, using SMAS-plasty, fixation of the muscular-aponeurotic layers to such clear structures, like the zygomatic arch, the periauricular zone. We clearly fix them there, and this gives a very good rise in the deep tissues of the face, and working with the skin array also gives a very good amount of opportunities in restoring those vectors that have been violated.

Can the vector lifting be combined with other anti-aging procedures?

Of course, it is possible, and even necessary. For example, I very often combine such vector lifts with nose correction. It may not necessarily be a rhinoseptoplasty, like an operation. This, again, can be the use of volumetric techniques. I use the same Radiesse preparation, my own fat cells and hyaluronic acid for nose correction, because the part of us that, as they say, is growing all the time, also requires a vector lifting. The only organ that grows throughout life – it's a nose. This is true, and the nose tends to droop, which is one of the markers of age, and it definitely gives it away.

Even if I do plastic surgery and leave my nose hooked and down, it will only be half the effect.

Therefore, I will definitely perform either surgical correction or use the possibilities of nose correction using volumetric techniques.

What new methods do you plan to introduce into your practice in the near future?

In my practice, I really apply the new, and I see everything that is new in the world, because I go to different conferences several times a year. Recently, I see a trend towards minimally invasive technologies. If this is surgery – these are more endoscopic technologies, as well as few incisions in visible places with maximum effect. Such a trend as a combination of major surgery with minimal impact and minimally invasive technologies is also in my hands. I very often use volumetric methods in combination with plastic surgery, because, for example, when I lift the face, it is not always possible to create cheekbones in very thin patients. Therefore, I can do volumization using either my own fat cells, or the same hyaluronic acid preparations, or Radiesse. In the postoperative period
