Cryolipolysis is requested by those patients of the cosmetology clinic who do not have the opportunity or desire for long-term rehabilitation, as well as those who do not want to undergo liposuction for various reasons. This is a non-surgical liposuction based on controlled tissue cooling, in which fat cells self-destruct, and other body structures do not suffer at all. The advantage of cryolipolysis is that this method has a delayed effect, and after the procedure, the progressive reduction of adipose tissue in the patient continues for a long time.
What is the essence of cryolipolysis and for which areas is it effective
The operation of the cryolipolysis method is based on the fact that adipocytes are susceptible to cold and lose viability at -5 °C. This feature of adipose tissue cells is taken into account in the devices for cryolipolysis. Cells of other tissues and organs do not react to such cold exposure. And if you selectively influence the zones of fat traps with cold, then even for a single procedure of cryolipolysis, up to 30% of fat cells are destroyed, since critical hypothermia of the chosen zone is maintained for about 60 minutes during the session.

Cryolipolysis is effective as non-surgical liposuction of the breeches, inner thighs, and knee area, but especially good results are obtained with cryolipolysis of the abdomen – front wall and side surfaces.
Contraindications for cryolipolysis
Cryolipolysis is not used to correct fat deposits in the area of the second chin, it is not effective if the patient has excess body weight and with strong skin stretch marks.
Cryolipolysis is excluded under the following conditions:
- pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- cold urticaria and Raynaud's syndrome;
- neurological disorders;
- blood clotting problems;
- the patient has a pacemaker;
- presence of varicose veins, other disorders of peripheral circulation in the treatment area;
- hematomas, wounds, scars, dermatoses in the treatment area.
The cryolipolysis procedure should be carried out under the close supervision of a physician, with maximum attention to all parameters of skin cooling and the tightness of the nozzle, in order to avoid hypothermia of other body structures.
