In the framework of the International Exhibition InterCHARM-Ukraine, which was held in Kyiv from September 22 to 24, Suzanna Porres – international certified trainer and manager of the Skin Academy (Barcelona) – presented her report on the topic "Effective treatment of hyperpigmentation", in which she described in detail the mechanisms of this problem, the factors contributing to pigmentation disorders, and also spoke about the features and effectiveness of pHformula peels in the treatment of hyperpigmentation.
Functions, melanin synthesis and causes of hyperpigmentation
Dr. Suzanne Porres began her report by describing the functions and features of melanin production in the skin, as well as the types of this pigment. This information is very important for understanding the mechanism of action of peels in hyperpigmentation.
The photoprotective pigment melanin is produced in melanocytes and performs the following functions:
- ensures natural skin tone;
- protects the skin from UV damage;
- participates in thermoregulation processes;
- helps regulate the body's production of vitamin D.
The number of melanocytes does not depend on the patient's skin phototype, the phototype is determined by the size and shape of melanosomes that contain melanin. The mature melanosome is transferred to the cells of the epidermis keratinocytes.
The process of melanin synthesis is quite complex and depends on a number of factors.
What factors contribute to the appearance of hyperpigmentation?
There are four main factors that contribute to the appearance of hyperpigmentation:
- hormonal changes (during pregnancy, due to birth control pills, during menopause);
- stress;
- irritation caused by environmental pollution, allergens or bacteria;
- ultraviolet radiation.
For hyperpigmentation treatment to be effective, it is also necessary to establish the type of hyperpigmentation: dermal or epidermal. To do this, the beautician will need a Wood's lamp:
- epidermal hyperpigmentation becomes darker under Wood's lamp;
- The color of dermal pigmentation remains unchanged under the Wood's lamp.
What are the features of pHformula peels for skin renewal and combating hyperpigmentation?
Having reviewed the main concepts and factors that influence the appearance of hyperpigmentation, Dr. Porres proceeded to describe the features of pHformula peels and their effectiveness in eliminating this skin defect.
PHformula products combine cosmeceutical and pharmaceutical properties.
The fundamental difference between pHformula peels and traditional products is the possibility of controlled chemical skin renewal, which allows for enhanced cell regeneration without trauma and surface irritation of the skin. This is possible thanks to the unique PH-DVC ingredient delivery complex, which provides the most controlled penetration of active substances into the skin without any side effects typical of traditional peels.
For the first time ever, a unique combination is presented in pHformula peels:
- alpha-keto acids;
- alpha, beta and polyhydroxy acids;
- vitamins;
- antioxidants;
- anti-inflammatory agents;
- amino acids;
- trace elements;
- PH-DVC delivery systems.
Differences between traditional peels and pHformula:
Three levels of skin renewal with pHformula peels:
- Level 1 – superficial skin renewal.
- Level 2 – midline skin renewal.
- Level 3 – deep skin renewal.
Dr. Porres also talked about the features of professional skin renewal products:
AGE solutions –solution for aging skin that helps fight the signs of aging: photoaging, pigmentation disorders, dull complexion, superficial wrinkles and wrinkles of medium depth.
MELA powerclay™- - active serum to combat hyperpigmentation, suitable for all skin types.
ACNE Solution – active solution with anti-inflammatory, keratolytic and bacterial growth inhibiting effect.
CR 1 complex – An effective resurfacing complex for chronic redness and rosacea.
VITA C Radiance – to fight early signs of skin damage.
DELICATE AREAS – product for solving aging-related problems in specific problem areas – neck, décolleté, periorbital area.
