Meeting the winter holidays with your closest people is one of the most pleasant traditions. New Year and Christmas create the mood for almost a month, because first comes the preparation, the choice of gifts, the preparation of the menu, and then the celebration itself, which lasts a week.
Setting up a Christmas tree is also a wonderful tradition, but if we are talking about a young family, then New Year's boxes with decorations for the Christmas tree, most likely, remained in the parents' houses. Buying new Christmas decorations is not a problem, but what should you give preference to, especially if there is a small child in the family?
One can talk a lot about the benefits of aesthetic education, but the topic of child safety is of primary concern to parents.
Parents of small children should pay attention to unbreakable plastic jewelry. Owls and horses, elephants and bunnies, Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden will look great on the Christmas tree. You can find not only flat plastic toys, but also voluminous ones. Plastic balls, which do not differ in appearance from glass counterparts, will decorate the Christmas tree no less. There are a lot of such safe balls on sale now, the choice is great - matte, glossy, with sparkles and with patterns, all colors and all sizes.
Plastic balls covered with velvet or silk and decorated with rhinestones or embroidery on the fabric. Such Christmas decorations look incomparable, and when they fall, they do not break.
Soft toys can be a wonderful Christmas decoration. We are talking, of course, not about big toys, but about the smallest ones that children like so much. Such toys are sold as souvenirs and as pendants for mobile phones.
The safest Christmas tree decorations include toys made from craft paper and from plain or corrugated cardboard. Such appliqué toys and blanks for toys are also on sale.
Many of the Christmas tree decorations can be made by yourself. If mom is fond of needlework, then this will not be difficult. Thermoplastic figurines, patchwork soft toys, figurines knitted or felted of wool, Chinese lanterns, garlands, Christmas tree flags - all this can be created at home, if there is a desire. In addition, a child (conditionally - a baby over three years old), taking part in such preparation for decorating a Christmas tree, will learn not only to make crafts, but will also deeply feel the approach of the holiday.
What toys and items should not be used when decorating a Christmas tree?
- Glass Christmas decorations are dangerous because they can break. Particularly dangerous are old toys whose glass has become more brittle, or the holders or fasteners have loosened.
- Christmas tree beads made of small parts can break into small parts, so it is also better not to use them in a house where there is a small child.
- Candles should be completely excluded from Christmas tree decorations. Of course, live fire looks very beautiful, really fabulous, but it is too dangerous. It will be impossible to leave a child in a room unattended, and in the festive turmoil, you can not notice how the baby slipped away to admire the lights.
And speaking of safety, the Christmas tree must certainly be well strengthened, even if it is small and light.
It remains only to wish all adults a good mood and pleasant pre-holiday troubles, and children - joy and interesting gifts from Santa Claus!
