British researchers have found out how hunger affects men's perceptions of the beauty of the female body.

In an unusual experiment, volunteers were asked to choose their companion for the evening. Those of the men who at the time of the study experienced a feeling of hunger more often preferred ladies in the body. The experiment involved 266 men who were asked to evaluate the sexual attractiveness of women in photographs. Overwhelmingly, hungry men gave the highest marks to overweight women.

According to scientists, the choice occurred at the subconscious level, which identified a dense physique as an indicator of the availability of food and the physical health of its owner. Experts are sure that the key to the dependence of hunger and beauty lies in the relationship between human libido and parts of the brain responsible for hunger. Scientists noted that the mechanism described above is also true in the case of women.
